@@joeydrumstix It's not the studio version from MM of course, but the audio is manifestly not from the performance you see on screen. That's not to say it wasn't recorded "live" in a controlled studio environment where this kind of sound quality could be achieved. I think that is what is being alluded to by other comments. Bands often used this trick for their live VHS/DVD releases (and perhaps still do) so there's no shame in it. Why am I arguing about a 30+ year old live performance of RHCP? I need a girlfriend or something.

I think this is the original tracks just mixed better and some guitar tracks were scrapped. Those are Anthony’s vocals from the original and same with Frusciantes actual part like the rhythm is the exact same just different tone probably form the mix. Same with the drums and bass I think

John Frusciante was a way more innovated guitar player back then. Although he didn’t want to be there, he was throwing off the cuff stuff out there. More experimental and outside the box, the exact opposite of his playing in his latter years.
