I just looked at your website cause I like your T shirt. I love the one available on your site also but there’s no size selection. Any chance of printing it on a female singlet or t shirt? My wife is like a US size 2

Hey there! My ilama is actually recovering. I had fertilized it before I went to Thailand and I came back to home after my trip and it was nearly fried to death with fertilizer burn to the roots (my first time fertilizing it in 2 years) and unfortunately it could not handle it. It is in a pot recovering it’s root system but it does not look good. May have to buy another tree unfortunately

Great video! Hope it takes with the sugar apple pollen! Keep us updated! I have couple mature sugar apple trees in containers that flower abundantly and would be really exciting to know if I could use those to pollinate my ilama seedlings when they mature. I remember seeing a pdf on the flower of the illamas in different regions of Mexico and there is so much variety in sizes. The flower of the white ilamas is just as beautiful. The ones I’ve seen have yellowish petals. They are my favorite fruits! This videos has me so motivated for my trip back to El Salvador in August to enjoy these delicious fruits to my hearts content!

Thank you! I will keep you all updated if the red ilama flower takes with A.squamosa pollen. I really want to plant a white ilama at my house as well. I would love to travel to El Salvador and eat some ilama abundance , maybe I can go in 2022 in August. Thanks for letting me know about that.

@@gardenflorida Sound good, look forward to the update! You should definitely plant a white ilama. Most of the time they to be on the sweeter side and less berry flavored compared to the red or it’s lighter shades. But they are just as good! Definitely add El Salvador to your list, There’s lot of beautiful places to visit and from late July into the end of august is peak season for the ilamas. When asking or buying just call them anonas as ilama isn’t recognized when referring to the fruit.

Interesting. Do you have any experience with the passiflora quadrangularis? I found one growing outside of a fence and took cuttings and they are now growing. My understanding is it is the largest of the passiflora group of plants and the entire fruit is edible.

@gardenflorida 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I do have some experience growing them, they are part of the passiflora family. They produce big fruits here in Florida but sometimes the colder months here reduce them from growing to their fullest potential. But I’ve seen some decent sized Passiflora quadrangularis fruits come out from Pine Island Bokelia Florida.

Nice video, do u have any recommendations for any fertilizer which can help promote growth in sugar apple, I bought a sugar apple plant 3 months back it’s around 2-3 ft but not putting up growth. The leaves are turning yellow lately it so is that normal now during this time of the year? . Also I accidentally broke a tip of one branch and I am seeing new growth only on that part so do u recommend pruning it? I am in zone 9b Bay Area.

You may use 'Osmocote indoor and outdoor' that fertilizer is good for Annonas. Also you are in California, sugar apple will grow but sugar apple is known as 'the cherimoya of the lowlands' meaning it prefers lowland regions such as Florida where it is flat, and in mountain regions with elevation such as California it may have a harder time accilimating - although it is still possible to grow. I suggest tipping your branches about 1/3 and also after tipping remove 1-2 leaves on the tips to stimulate branching. Hope this helps, send me a email GardenHarleyFL@gmail.com if you need further help.

That annona is my favorite. I have a lot of the white one and only one red one. They are all from seed and I want to know if yours are two, if that's the case how long it took to it to flower?

My ilama is actually grafted onto pond apple rootstock (Annona glabra). It is about 3 -4 years old.
