I have 2 types of red dragon fruit, one is big and weighs 550 g and the other weighs about 300 g. The one that is heavy has to be hand pollinate but the smaller one is self pollinate. The inside of the big one has the same color as red jaina. But still, I love the taste of the Ecaudor ones.

I'm excited watching this. I've struggled with my red Dragonfruit for 4 years. I bought it from a nursery. Never a flower. Only skinny straggly limbs that insist on growing upward no matter how I try to get them to drape even when I prune. Help! Any suggestions?
@UserOne3713 жыл бұрын
ikreate 4u Your dragon fruit plant could be making skinny limbs and not making fruit due to it being a plant started from seed. Dragon fruits started from seed need about 6 years to fruit while cuttings can fruit as quick as 1 to 2 years and grow much faster. Also whether your plant is from seed or cutting a lack of water sunlight or nutrients can cause them to grow skinny branches. After you water it scratch the soil and if it’s still dry underneath keep watering, sometimes when the soil gets dry it can look like you’re watering it well on top but the water is actually not penetrating into the root area due to how dry the soil is. Also if all else fails you can buy mature cuttings on eBay or Etsy for reasonable prices, I’ve had great success with those, they grow very fast and pick up where the mature plant left off. Also as far as pruning I just chop off the top of mine when they get too tall and carefully train the new branches to droop down. I hope this helps. Good luck!

@@emmacarpio7528 the one I got was ok. It was maybe about a foot tall that looked in poor shaped, however it is the one growing the best out of all the other 3 cuttings I bought. It has a new branch growing rn at the moment thats maybe about 2 months old. I do suggest Spicey Exotics to get your cuttings there. They have a huge selection of them and they are expensive to me although I've read the reviews they give you big or long cuttings. My only problem is when I looked at their stock. They were out of stock for a majority of the stuff from 2 months looking at them. So my guess is they only restock during certain times of the year when new branches grow.
