Lighting schemes, filmmaking tricks, and 30 pages of concentrated information with examples.
In this video, we will be testing the RED Komodo 6k camera. Additionally, in this scene, we aim to create cinematic lighting setups using the ACE 650 and ARRI 1200 HMI light sources.
The RED Komodo is a compact and lightweight camera known for its impressive dynamic range. However, there is one issue we encountered... noise when using a dark key light setup.

Exactly. I bet you could stick any decent camera (GH5, BMPC4k, A7III) in this scene, and expose it for that camera's range, and it would look just as good.

@kolecava
@kolecava 3 жыл бұрын
@@jv8studios it's a camera that offers a lot but I wouldn't get it. The AF is poor and IS while good is pointless. Depends on your budget, it's more of a run and gun videographer camera like the A7 series from Sony. I would get the P4K, cage rig, t5 for storage and a vmount then rest invest into a basic lighting kit, light stands, diffusion, neg, bounce and light stands. With vintage lenses or sigma 18-35 you can make some great things 😉 All subjective on how and what you are shooting.

I always try to place my room tone around 3 stops down from exposure so that there is something before complete darkness, some definition particularly in dark panelled rooms before dropping into the abyss can save a shot. You can always take it out, adding it is ugly.

@@ANDBERY Amazing video and lighting Andbery, as what we've come to expect from you! KZbin doesn't do these videos justice. Have you had a chance to use the BMPCC 6k? I have a 4k, and was wondering whether it's worth the upgrade.. I've heard people say that the highlight rolloff is better on the 6k, and that it has more dynamic range and better lowlight. Also that the colors are "more" accurate. If you've used them both, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the whether these differences are noticeable. Thank you for your time, take care buddy!

Thank you! I’d love to try the Komodo sometime. I love the cinematic look of the BMPCC4K. However, when I tried out the Canon C70, I felt it’s image out of camera was a bit video-like, not as filmic as the BMPCC4K. Am wondering why do you think that is? The C70 is a great camera and I’m sure you can achieve great results with good lighting and lenses as you mentioned. However I’m confused why the BMPCc4K’s image looks more cinematic to me than the more expensive C70? Any advice or input?

Есть ли шансы? Или если что-то докупить из бюджетных тех же Godox, то можно решить задачу? Вообще очень мало видео про освещение больших групп людей. Awesome tutorial as ever. Some tips to make it easier for people like me to get a better idea of the setup is maybe a really wide shot of the setup, kind of like how aperture does their tutorials. The other thing is for each light setup, maybe in the description of the video, list out the lights and the quantities of lights you used. This would be so helpful!
