Beautiful trees. Unfortunately, the fires are only going to worse with the coming years. I am in Oregon a lot and it seems some part of it is always burning or receiving smoke from elsewhere.
@oregonfigs33144 ай бұрын
@@jackturner4917 - I think you are correct. I remember a time where fires were not such a problem. We were lucky that we had winds from the west and northwest this summer in the Willamette Valley this year. The fires are a major problem in the west.

That’s a beautiful tree! Mine are just starting to swell here in zone 5. I agree on the wrinkling. Many people seem to pick them too early

That's a good tip that I'll try to remember. Your trees and figs always look great. My first year Sao Miguel Roxo in a 10 gallon container had four figs but none were as big as yours. I wasn't crazy about them. Mine were sorta bland. Not really sweet and berry flavor was diluted. Probably too much rain and humidity. How old is your SMR?
@oregonfigs33144 ай бұрын
@@Scott-hl7om - It has taken several years to see large figs on SMR. I purchased an airlayer from Wills in 2019.

Hello chris those figs look wonderful you go ahead and keep enjoying those beauties. Ps a quick personal question i know flavour depends on a lot of diffrent factors and im in a more rainy climate then yours but i currently have takoma violet, bi39, rlbv, malta black and crozes. I was considering adding Norella, Kesariani just for testing purposes would you say its worth testing 2 more varities or would they be to simmilar 😇

Hello do you mind if i ask a couple of questions. How big is the container that this fig tree is in. I have a couple of fig trees in containers and they are full of figs but non are ripening what the problem they get pleanty of water and fertilizer and are very healthy
@oregonfigs33144 ай бұрын
@@ai-pq4yq - This is in a 15G pot. 15G is my biggest pot size. You do have to root prune every couple of years. Many trees take forever to start fruiting. I don’t see strong fruit set until most trees are a least three years in the Willamette Valley. If you have lots of fruit not ripening, your varieties might be too late. Try De Tres Esplets, Ronde de Bordeaux, Improved Celeste or Iranian Candy.
