Great review Bryan. I'm one of the lucky ones that is pretty much playing this for the first time. I played it for about 30 minutes on PSVR and then PSVR2 came out and my PSVR got packed away. I played tonight for about 90 minutes and I'm looking forward to finishing it this weekend.

Awesome. I just bought Red Matter 1. I missed out on Red Matter on PSVR 1 and thus have been holding out on playing Red Matter 2, till I get to play the first one. Nice to hear, that the conversion holds up nicely!

I just came here to reply to that idiotic rant at Bryan that someone just posted. Being a game reviewer on KZbin may be an unconventional job, which some people may not understand or perhaps like...but to say the work Bryan does isn't 'beneficial' to anyone has clearly missed that the channel is at almost 100k subscribers. It also fundamentally misses the point of the importance of entertainment to people across the world. Applying the same ridiculous logic would mean that all film, TV and music reviewers and journalists, and infact anyone else producing any type of entertainment on a screen are not doing 'proper jobs' 🙄 This channel is a constant source of entertainment and information for thousands of fans of a fledgling, but (let's not forget) fast-growing corner of the games world. It is a place where you can meet like-minded VR gamers, chat to friends or just sit back, don't say a goddam word, and enjoy sharing a love for the most wonderful experience that is VR. If people don't like that, rather than blindly ranting at someone they have never met, perhaps they should go do something else with their time. There is simply no need to be angry or unkind to our gamecat leader. Anyway, thank you for the review, Bryan. Two 9s in a day! Bosh!! #gamecat

I'm amazed at how many "Top 10" lists of PSVR2 games online don't include Red Matter 2. Phenomenal atmosphere, visuals, puzzles, etc.. I've never found myself exclaiming about the textures of surfaces, lighting, or other "little" details as much as I have this game. My friend even says it's the closest thing to Half-Life: Alyx that he's seen; that's one heckuva compliment for a totle that seems to be slipping beneath most people's radar.

I played the PS4 version back in July because I wanted to play the sequel and was uncertain if I should wait for the possible remaster, as it wasn't 100% confirmed at the time. Looks like I should have waited, but either way, I'll be excited to jump back into this again at a much higher fidelity. Nice review!

Are there any logical circuit type puzzles like in RM2 or are they all escape think outside the box type puzzles? I enjoyed the circuit puzzles alot more

There are some circuit type puzzles in RM1 for sure. The only real difference between the two is no gun play in 1. I kind of like 1 better as it leaves you alone most of the game making the atmosphere darker than RM2 where you had someone talking in your ear the whole game.

@@grahamkelly8662 yes it’s fantastic, still my favourite psvr2 game, alongside resident evil 4 remake. Now red matter 1 is out I’d play that first for the story but red matter 2 is a better game, and the story still made sense. You’d have no issues playing 2 first

@@millenwagon ah nice. Although puzzle games intimate me. Are the puzzles hard for idiots like me? I hate being in an area and not have a clue what to do. I think I will start will red matter 2 first, even though it’s more expensive then 1 but it’s on sale right now. Red matter 1 is about £15.99 and red matter 2 is about £16.50 around £9 off. Have you played moss and moss book 2? If so, do you recommend? They £19.50 for both. Kinda reminds me of that platform game Trine? Although I absolutely sucked at that game and gave up early. There’s about 4 editions and I keep meaning to try them all and get better. I think I bought and tried trine 3. Loved that art style setting , 3 characters etc but I sucked at the puzzles .😭

What matters most? Red Matter :) and 19,99 is a super fair price. Top Quality VR-Gaming and you dont have to fold your hands every night the devs might patch their game somewhere in the future. Simply runs and looks awesome!...and you can find photos of polish paul (portrays stas, i am damn sure it must be him) in the lockers.

They are better integrated in Red Matter. My favorite thing about the game is it never felt like you were "solving puzzles", more like just figuring out how to get through the station and discover its secrets.

How are you so damn fast, do you live in the future? It just released 3 minutes ago on the Sony store I wish Red Matter 2 had more fighting and harder puzzles, it'd be so amazing! I've never played Red Matter 2 because of that, but imagine those visuals on actual faster more action based games! Play 1 before 2. The story is connected, but like I said in this review, RM2 adds a lot of gameplay mechanics (primarily shooting and stealth) that RM1 didn't have.

I am around halfway through Red Matter 2 and have to say, it's seriously one of the more boring games I can remember persisting with. Not sure quite why it seems so highly rated, outside of the admittedly high res but slightly desaturated visuals on PSVR2

It's beautiful but really disappointed about how short it is also the puzzles are super easy. It's a must have in psvr2 if you pay under 15 bucks
