I always feel like I'm fighting against myself. I make mistakes, desire change, and then continue making mistakes. I KNOW the consequences of the sins I commit, but they keep coming back. Temptation creeps in, and, for mysterious reasons, I fail to resist them time and time again! It seems that no amount of personal desire for change can contain the sinful beast inside of me. There is definitely hope, but I continue to live like hope doesn't exist. This song describes my internal warfare perfectly.

Can we all agree that this song touches us and stop arguing about its true meaning? Art will always give off a different meaning to different people, and although some of us may agree with one another on an interpretation of a piece of art, we will not feel the exact same way about, we will not have the same memories or experiences to associate with it, and we will not have the exact same image in our minds when we think about it. We are all our own people. I wish that we could share meanings we find in art without trying to bite each others heads off in the process. Without cutting one another down. I'm tired of this. I really am. People need to get a back bone. Stop getting offended by every little thing. Stop trying to stab the person next to you because they don't share your view. Stop trying to strangle what gives a person hope, and carries them through life. Stop hurting those who have already been wounded. Stop putting pressure on people to fit your views. We're all human. We all bleed. We all breathe. We all feel. Seeing all this anger and hatred bouncing around because you don't all connect to this work of art in the same way...it honestly breaks my heart.

It was heaven that drew me to him, it was hell that drove me away, the empty love that once was ours, is replaced by the nothing of the everyday. Its was love that you promised, and cold hatred is what i received, you will never return even if i beg and plead. Goodbye my friend, hello my enemy, in this battle for power there is no hope, only animosity How this song made me feel
@lelouchbritannia763610 жыл бұрын
I seen it in completely different light; I see this as a battle between our sinful flesh and our will to be Christian, or more Christ-like. When he said “without you, the fight inside is braking me again” saying that if it wasn't for Gods mercy and kindness we would brake and fall to our own selfishness and hatred. The “enemy” that is represented in this looks to me to be the devil, because it said “familiar friend, broken truth, whispering lies…” all of which points to him. Also with him saying “I want it to end, but I want it again” supports my decision that it is the devil. just my view ^_^

This... This song just struck a chord. I... I have PTSD, and am often overwhelmed by flashbacks. I've been told many times to let go, not to live in the past... But it's beyond my control. Even if I could escape though... I don't think I'd want to. Because as much as the flashbacks hurt... They make me happy. I get to relive time that I was the happiest in. Even though I miss it. So as weird as it is to say this... I enjoy this kind of pain. I know I shouldn't be this way... But there's nothing I can do about it. The war inside... That is, trying to decide whether to shut out the flashbacks or let myself relive the past.
@Feliciaeclipsed9 жыл бұрын
+Little Sis I understand. You are not alone. It's a poison and once it gets in, it's like it takes over and we can no longer control it.. You become someone else, something you don't want to be.. but you're addicted almost... It's painful. Keep fighting. You can push past it, but they will always be with you. You just have to learn to fight it when it tries to take over and overcomes you once more... I find myself wallowing in it and that's when I know it's taken me hostage again. Don't give up.

My Fight... How do I breath, with all the crushing weight on my chest.. Press my bleeding lips between the cracks in the stone for the smallest gasp of air.. How do I see in the darkest night.. Strain my eyes desperate to find the outlines of a shadow… How do I stand, with the pain of a thousand broken bones… Scream at the top of lungs and push with the strength pulled from a million of my kin, to raise myself an inch… This is all Ive ever known.. the fight.. and the will, the simple and primal desire for survival… I cannot stop, because if I do, then the mountain on top of me will surely suffocate me.. I’ll go blind to the beauty I need to find.. I’ll sink so deep into the earth and I’ll bury myself… I’ll drown in my tears, choke on my words, and my lungs will shrivel to nothing.. I go on, living in a unlivable world… finding little moments of hope to fuel this fire.. knowing that one day… maybe even my last.. I’ll breath free, I’ll see the light, I’ll have my moment to rise above..

@rodolfoaguilar91955 жыл бұрын
I get what you mean, you wanna feel redeemed by God with a hopeful ending. But this song is more like a lament prayer, a cry for help to God, this song reminds me of what Paul said in romans 7:19 when he does the things he doesn’t want to do because of the flesh. It’s a fight with our flesh. And well this song allows me to release all that pain and hurt I have with a prayer for help.
