Great overview, would you recommend this or the 12’6” Voyager for a mix of fun fitness paddling and fishing?

Most definitely! For such mixed use the Voyager 12'6 is a great option.

Hello, I am currently trying to choose between the 11,3 sport and 12,6 sport and maybe the voyager 12,6. I weigh 70 kg and will be using predominantly on lakes in the Lake District and sometimes cruising the sea coast. I would like to take my girlfriend (70 kg too) on board sometimes too.. I am a fairly experienced paddler. What would your go to be? I have been told that a 4,7 inch thick board provides a better paddling experience so at first I was inclined towards the 11,3 sport but again that compromises on length so I’m a bit stuck.. 😣Thanks so much for your advice! Max.

Thanks for watching Max and the overview. Without a doubt one Red Paddle Co board missing of you list is the Voyager 13'2. If you are paddling distance and wanting the most efficent board, then length is key. Take a look at our review of the 13'2 Voyager on our channel as well as our comparison video of it between against the 12'6 Voyager.

I bought the ride 10.6. Used it once and now regret not having bought the sport 11.3 😢

Thanks for watching. Sorry to hear this as it is so often the way with allrounders of 10'6 in length that they are outgrown quite readily. The advantage of Red however is their resale value so hopefully you can find a willing buyer for your lightly used 10'6 Ride.

Hi, which has better glide, the 11'3 sport or the 12'6 voyager?
@TheSUPCompany

Hi, thank you for the question. Without doubt the 12'6 Voyager has far more glide than the 11'3 Sport, better tracking also.

Is this good for a beginner? I tried a friend's Red Ride today and went pretty well on it. I'm looking for a board for river and lake and have a kayak background so do like a bit of speed and tracking. Am 75 kg and looking at the 11.3

Hi Sean, thanks for watching. The short answer is without doubt yes! The 11'3 Sport offers far more glide than any of the Red Paddle Co Ride boards due to it longer waterline length. A by product of a longer board is that tracking is also significantly improved and the longer centrally mounted 9" touring fin also provides more directional assistance as well as lateral stability when compared to the shorter fins found on the Ride models. Overall stability on the 11'3 Sport is also not compromised when compared to the Ride models as it is 32" wide and has a reasonably wide tail. The Red Paddle Co 11'3 Sport would certainly fit the bill as well as offer you good room for progression.

Hello for tourism in the sea, which one do you recommend? Will they be crossings at sea in a few hours ... Sport 11.3 or Voyager 12.6? Thanks a lot
@TheSUPCompany
@TheSUPCompany 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Pablo, thank you for watching. Without a doubt, waterline length is key to determining glide and as such the longer the board the more glide. So the 12'6 Voyager would be the better option.

Hi, which board would You recomend for a not very experienced paddler who occasionally takes his girlfriend with him for paddling. I am deciding between 11’3’’ sport, 12’6’’ sport and 12’6 voyager. I weight around 80kg. Thanks :)

Hi Andri, thanks for the question. The 11'3 Sport works well for upto 115kg. While the 12'6 Voyager is good for 150kg plus. Due to the additional length of the 12'6 you also get two things; the first being the most important much more glide and efficiency. The second is 'real estate' which gives you more area to accommodate passengers and / or kit. Hope this helps.

Knowing a thing or two about slipstreaming ,the back of this board will create drag on the underside (just my opinion) Red are a good product even if over priced but lets not stick bits on for the sake of it

Hi Harold, thanks for watching. We paddled this model back to back with the previous years that did not have the 'speed tail' and it is slower and does not release as cleanly. Although Red Paddle Co have coined the term 'speed tail' they are certainly not the first and nor will they be the last to try and achieve a hard edge on an inflatable product. Other older examples have been around for a few years now from Starboard (Airplane and Allstar Airline), JP (windsurf models as well as race and touring boards) and the Jobe Neva to name a few.

Hello, i see a little bubble on the board near the fin, is it a defect? See 6:20 in this video.

I'm pretty sure that is where the inflation valve is, most boards have these after a while sometimes due to over inflation as some shops tend to over inflate their boards so they seem more rigid than they really are.
@TheSUPCompany
@TheSUPCompany 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dimitry, thank you for the question. The area you have highlighted is the what Red called 'the bump'. This is found on all inflatable paddleboards and is due to the top layer of drop stitch needing to be cut to allow insertion of a valve. The result of this is that is no way for the fibres of the drop stitch on the bottom layer of the board to be attached and therefore in tension. The result is a bump. Some brands and models hide this behind a fin box or fin placement, this however can cause an issue over time as it puts pressure on the glued area. Overall, nothing to be concerned about and it is not a defect. So much so, Red even made a video about it - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYetmYFtbZWsg68

This is not a marriage. The bubble is formed because there is an air valve above this place and there are no connecting threads.

Hello, very informative overview. I was wondering which board you recommend best - between the Red 11'0 and 11'3 for the most fun and diversity. My main use will mainly rivers (Thames River) and lakes. We as a family do lots of camping - through the UK & Europe. I'm 5'3" - 54-56kg. I do have a 13-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter - that may want to paddle every once in a while. Both my children are taller and heavier than me - not sure if - I would be able to ride the 11'3 with one of them on it? Any advice? Will you be getting them in stock in the next few weeks?
@TheSUPCompany
@TheSUPCompany 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Arelis, thank you for watching and your question. The 11'3 Sport will be the better option for you as it affords more volume and therefore carrying capacity. The 11'3 at 2" wider is also the more stable and will accomodate a small passenger easier. With regards to stock our June delivery is already sold out. More stock will be released on the 1st July for Pre Order with delivery being in mid July.
