Looking back on this now, you can see how this pedal probably inspired features in the Blooper. But who knows (Knobs I guess)?. What I like about this pedal is it's real-time ability. Wish Blooper had that flexibility, but they probably wouldn't be able to call it a Blooper anymore.

Wow I think this is the most interesting modern pedal design I've seen in a long while, that's coming from a non-guitarist perspective being a keyboard/production person. Maybe similar functionality is available in other stuff but it's cloaked in iffy interface design.
@CLaw-tb5gg9 ай бұрын
I’ve had one of these since they came out, and they’re a bit gimmicky but they’re a lot of fun. I never use it for the delay function - what I find enjoyable is setting it up so that you can play a phrase, press the momentary switch, and then the phrase you just played will repeat in reverse.

I'd love to see this compared to the shuffling looper in the HX series of multi-effects. I need to make time to sit down with that and play with it because I think it's pretty close to this/Blooper/Mood/CT5 type of functions albeit there might be too many control options

@boarderking1336 жыл бұрын
The only complaint I have with your videos is that you have such a weird playing style that I cant tell what is you and what is the pedal. If I could see your hands then I could have a better idea of what the pedal is doing.

Like at 2:26 where "nothing is happening" before he switches on the pedal.
@Mattom-sy7bz6 жыл бұрын
I agree, but i think if there was a person in the video then it would take away from the whole aesthetic that makes the videos so well recieved, at the end of the day theres plenty of other channels that show you how pedals sounds with more traditional playing styles if you need a proper comparison, but the noone explains pedals in the same ambient, unobnoxious way that knobs does
@CorbCorbin6 жыл бұрын
There is a place where one can see Knobs play. Blurred face though. It's on the Coffee and Riffs channel. He actually does an episode with the dude from Chase Bliss. Don't remember which episode, but it shouldn't be hard to find.
@CorbCorbin6 жыл бұрын
Toxic Potato When you see him, you realize it's more to do with what pedal(s) he is using. With pitch shifting, octave , Reverse alternating modulation effects, one isn't really going to be playing three chord songs.
@boarderking1336 жыл бұрын
CorbCorbin yea I know. What I'm saying though is that I can tell what he's playing from what the pedal is doing because I'm not familiar with his style of playing.

to anyone who's looking to buy this for its looping, THE LOOPER IS ONLY 5 SECONDS... and even if you use knob's trick to extend the max looping time, you won't be able to loop a traditional 4 chords. i bought this pedal because of the looping capability + tape stop made it sound like an incredible deal but it's more of an auxiliary function. it sounds superb, the build quality is unbelievable but being able to loop only notes and tiny phrases is a deal breaker. making music out of tiny notes and phrases is actually difficult and less satisfying if youre not a god like knobs lol... buying it at 300 asking price is steep and im lucky to have got it at 220.

Tensor or CT5? Are they similar enough to compare? What's the better pedal for usability and price? Thoughts?
@SpaceDisco15 жыл бұрын
ian g Hey! I own both and definitely the Tensor. The CT5 has certain algorithms that are still quite unique to it (stepwise pitchshifting of repeats for example), but honestly it‘s a pain in the ass to use, because it‘s unintuitive as fuck, whereas the Tensor is just really user friendly. Plus an expression pedal with the tensor allows for a lot of cool shit. Don‘t get me wrong the CT5 is an amazing pedal for recording purposes, but unless you really like just letting things go out of control, the CT5 is practically unuseable live, atleast besides some basic settings (delay, chorus like) , that are easier to create with dedicated pedals.

@Fajfaj6 жыл бұрын
is this like a count to five but better? i can't help but feel like my rev k ct5 is a little outdated
@degradedecho83976 жыл бұрын
Similar but different I believe. The c25 can do things Tensor can't but the dual buffers and latching functions are great features.
@444levels96 жыл бұрын
could you expand on that in some detail please?
@degradedecho83976 жыл бұрын
I mean the feature sets of C25 and Tensor are different. I own a C25 and haven't used a Tensor so can only speculate on what I've heard/read of it. The C25 has three distinct modes in which the controls behave differently. I expect that some of these modes can be achieved with Tensor and some not. For example the Tensor cannot record a loop and play it back at three different directions and speeds. C25 has none of the momentary or latching capabilities of Tensor. C25 addresses pitch and speed together, Tensor has seperate controls. Tensor has a longer loop time. C25 has an internal lfo and filter. C25 has an adjustable threshold like Particle. Tensor and C25 handle randomness differently, C25 affecting loop start point. Tensor has midi. C25 and Tensor also overlap and share many features but I believe they are distinct enough to coexist harmoniously without dismaying that our C25's are now redundant. Tensor really seems fantastic and I expect the updated Particle will be stunning also. I hope this was illuminating for you 444 Levels, take it with a grain of salt though as I have not yet had the pleasure of tweaking a Tensor.
@WillemZenhorst6 жыл бұрын
Agreed: think my CT5 still has some unique tricks up its sleeve. However, I wish the Montreal Assembly guy would add more 'hidden functions' for the 2nd mode -> It feels... unfinished, that mode, simply because it COULD be even cooler! The Tensor seems more polished, maybe even too much (1 knob for Speed, 1 for Pitch, AND 1 for Time? Aren't those 3 overlapping a lot?) @Knobby, how do you feel the CT5 and Tensor compare?
@degradedecho83976 жыл бұрын
It would be great to have a random lfo available in mode 2 for modulating loop length. Also, more hold and latching functions would be very welcome updates.

@gheddi Fair enough. I am not a shredder, just someone who uses tools that enhance a quality rig. Granted I am 50 years old, but do not understand ANY reason to put this alongside your good analog pedals. I can pull off Spacehog's opening telephone riff (as you will) with a delay and tap trem.

Sorry Knobs. This demo is highly ineffective. Your vids are artsy and entertaining, but the disconnect between whats being played on the guitar, and what the pedal is actually doing, is glaringly absent and apparent. Try to figure out how you can incorporate more of a balance between how the device translates to musical=application and you'll be significantly upping your game for sure.
