Yess Effy! I just finished this book and it was absolutely the Red Wedding again and I did not appreciate that.

Oh no I totally disagree about Roque. Roque is a space racist, he believes in the Hierarchy. Even if Darrow would have told him he still would have betrayed him ! Sevro was right : Roque and Thistle were never going to be okay with it. And on re-read you can see that it is obvious from our very first Darrow/Roque moment : when Roques consoles Darrow in his speech is arguing that "yes it's horrible but it's right, the stronger win, the weaker must be cleaned out bla bla bla". And he's a total hypocrite about it too : I mean he was mad at Darrow about Quinn but by the end he sides with the people who actually DID kill her !

Im holding out for a Darrow/Roque reunion. Kind of the opposite outcome as with Cassius in that they were once brothers and their relationshio was irretrievably broken, i think that Darrow ans Roque will rejoin due to a common enemy. They may not repair to brotherhood, but something of their kinship will remain (I Hope!!)
