For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasures and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children, robed in white, stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting. G. S. Patton

In being at the game, OU had two weeks to prepare and Ou at the start looked good but Texas is just so complete and their defense is fantastic. That Anthony Hill kid is fantastic as true freshman. Texas just has so much that they can throw at you. Thus, why they’ve handled everyone.

OU has the cash backing to play today's football, and players don't have to make grades anymore so I'm not sure. For me Ryan is bad press, but for the poorly educated voters in Oklahoma he seems to be a good fit.

Feels good that Texas has a good program this year. I would say we have a lot of improving though for ewers, he was under / over throwing more than his fair share with having a comfortable pocket to work out out of courtesy of his o-line. Passes that could’ve lead to more touchdowns or easily 1st downs. Defense was a menace from the longhorns and we should give them all the recognition. Once they showed they could shut-down the running game from the quarterback it was game over for the Sooners.

Arch went 26/31 for 325 and two TDs with 33 rushing yds and a rushing TD in the MS game. I’m not quite sure what struggle means to you. Maybe Ewers was just rusty, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t starting their second-best quarterback.

@Bones12x23 ай бұрын
@@OfficerDownswould have been 27/31 for 400yds and 3 TDs if not for a bad wide open drop. Claiming Arch struggled against Miss St when he was arguably the most efficient QB in thr country that week is a hilariously bad take.
@Bones12x23 ай бұрын
Its too early for a QB controversy but Ewers was bad today. Being out for 2 games is no excuse when you are a third year starter. Arch would have scored 50 on OU today.
@Klust4133 ай бұрын
@@OfficerDowns Ewers just needs to shake off the rust. He's got more touch on the underneath routes and reads defenses a little better, whereas Arch has a more solid deep ball, better foot speed, but can be more up and down on the close routes that are more common than the deep shots. Ewers gives you the bread and butter that you need in your base, with Arch giving the deserts that are nice, but not a consistent winning plan.
