Gracias a la imposicion del rock & roll Johnny & the hurricanes tomaron una cancion popular y la volvieron exito mundial asi el tema se dio a conocer al mundo en version Rock. El origen del tema "red river valley" se pierde en la historia norteamericana.

I played with this band in 1965 in Boston ma. They had changed the name to the five fascinates. The only name I recall was Paul the organ player. Good musicians, great guys. Good memories.

Actually, they called themselves The Facinators. They wanted to call the band The Hurricanes but Johnny's managers threatened to sue.

We're you in the band in 65 in the combat zone in Boston? Tha club was a place called Jerome's. If so I would sit in with you guys fairly regular, probably played your guitar. It's great to know someone from the band is still king. Mike

When I grew up it was Elvis, Cliff and the shadows. I don't know how I got to this song, but now I can't stop listening to it. Love the pianio player and the sax.

I was 13 years old ,rock n roll was new and exiting feel good ,get up and dance nothing to worry about, just made us happy. Our generation was very lucky with all the great music through the late 50s 60s and 70s.

When my late baby daughter used to cry I would take her in my arms and hum this tune for her. She immediately settled down and fell asleep. Nothing else would pacify her. I miss her terribly every time I hear this.

Well, well, the original Johnny and the Hurricanes, and I don't care if they are miming! They had their own solid sound, the whirring sax and the old fashioned lead break. Many aspirant lead guitarists must have cut their teeth on J & H. Iconic instrumental rock group of the late 1950's.

I remember driving the circuit in Asbury Park NJ on a dollars worth of gas and my whole life ahead of me. Have to say there has been more laughter than tears since then...but don't drive much anymore....eat way to much ice cream....but this kind of music makes me think I will live forever!!!

Excelente version de una cancion popular americana, que lanzó a la popularidad a los inolvidables Johnny and the Hurricanes. Gozaron de numerosos exitos, y la verdad que se lo merecieron. Fueron una banda muy popular en aquellos años 60, y a lo largo de su carrera dejaron una impronta muy propia y personal, que influyó nonablente en numerosas bandas pisteriores, entre otras, podemos mencionar a nuestros queridos e inolvidables Relámpagos. Eso sí, la version que se escucha aquí es la original, la de estudio. No tiene nada que ver, con lo que se observa en las imagenes. Saludos rockeros
