My favourite settlement , I usually build my place there, close to sanctuary for collecting water etc, but far enough away I don't have to listen to Preston all the time lol

Something to possibly help you out while you're building without MODs, like at Red Rocket, look at the lines in the exiting concrete/slabs or wood.. They will give a reference oh how straight your build will be, line your two by two flooring up to that as best as you can to that line(s) and go from there.. There is a little "hack" that you can do (unless they fixed it) place the two by two flooring where you want it, then stand on it.. Look down to where it is highlighted, and start placing two by two floors, you will go up and the floors will go around you.. This will be your template on how and where your place your ladders and full floors going out, that way your floors are even without too much trouble.. That is how I built a restaurant on top of Red Rocket.. I have my pics posted of my build of Red Rocket on Steam, but those are with mods, but they still can show you what can be done.. Ive been building a tower on this ol gas station. Got two levels so far, a bar (1st level) and a power armor warehouse on the 2nd. To much as been done to put here but im in love with how its turning out

Stairs blocking build and doorway blocking prefab build. Doorways always on external(unless its the metal built in doorway). Anywhere at absolute edge you have a floor you can build a half wall extension( figured this part out in hangmans alley at the green. It sticks out past green).

You can lower items held without moving back and forth or up and down. Theres lists of build movements online.
