Red Rodney was one of my FAVORITES!! Saw him five times over the years and each time was a real treat!!! He graciously autographed albums I'd brought to his gigs over the years and these albums are on the wall of my music practice room, providing inspiration all these year later. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. SO nice to see Red Rodney in performance again....

I just learned about Red Rodney while reading Wayne Kramer from the MC5's bio 'The Hard Stuff'.They met in FCI Lexington while serving time.Red took Wayne under his wing and they became great friends while tutoring Wayne about the complexities of Jazz.Glad I found out about him.Never too late.
