Red Sea Desktop Peninsula Assembly

Finally got to assembling the tank. Apologies in advance as i had to film and assemble .. so not the greatest video :(

I’m planing on picking one up this weekend. I’ve never used a skimmer on my tanks.. Iva had a 25 gallon and a 40 gallon.. I’ve gotten by just fine with a water change. Idk if you’d be down for that 🤔 but I’m also obsessed with esthetics 😅

I'm looking into getting one of these and I was just wondering why did you get the desktop and not just the max nano peninsula if you were going to use all the redsea equipment? The max nano comes with the ATO, Skimmer and light but the desktop is just the tank making you have to buy everything separate.

Hi there, it was really more lack ok patience on my part. The LFS didn't have them in stock. I originally thought I would customize he setup more but other than the light it is almost the same. If they have the kits in stock where you are I would recommend that route.

@@My525XLRedSeaReeferit’s interesting the desktop is a lot cheaper than max nano - yet the light isn’t compatible with skimmer 😳 I wonder what Red Sea planned for the light assembly when they designed the desktop

Yeah fortunately I noticed the LED90 light mount to skimmer issue. We bought the Desktop Peninsula too and LED90, but omitted the red sea nano skimmer in favour of a german branded one on amazon (orange) that actually fits nicely and allows the LED90 bracket to fit in the centre back glass. We didn't buy the red sea top up either and are fitting a bigger one below in our cabinet with level sensor instead. Free's up quite some space too as a bonus. The red sea all in one nano's have two holes drilled into the back glass to mount the led50 bracket it comes with and the switch box, so sort of bespoke on those. Its a big oversight what they did with the Desktop versions.

They are a good set up but they did have some oversights for sure. I'm still happy with my set up but I always look for ways to improve.. Thank you for watching!

Don't the nano max come with a power pack that you plug n the skimmer, return pump and light? It all comes as one package.

Nice video! One question, I saw you have ReefLED 90 in ur pack, but on RedSea official website, both cube and peninsula come with ReefLED 50. Did u pay extra to upgrade the light separately?

Hang your lights from the ceiling & use adjusters for grow lights! You’ll wish you did it out of the gate. All light arms are ugly and overpriced! So I’m assuming this is low iron glass??? Everyone says “just get the Max Nano” but it’s overpriced A.F.!!! How well does the skimmer work? How well does the ATO work? Are you happy with it?? Recommend it now that the price for the tank is down to $300 shipped(still overpriced). I already have a new RedSea Desktop skimmer. Thanks allot.

Thanks for watching! Interesting idea on hanging the lights!! I'm not sure about the low iron glass. The skimmer works well for what it's supposed to do. For the size of the tank it's fine. Pretty quiet as well. ATO you have to fill every 2 days on average. Overall I am happy with the whole set-up. I would recommend if you are looking for a peninsula tank. Very simple set up and I have not had any issues so far.
