Hi Dave, Would carbon dosing / using a nitrate reducing chemical make your system reliant on it from the very start? I would have thought that the aim would be to keep the nutrients low via water changes and "non-artificial"? I have used NoPox and although I love the product and can say it is extremely effective, the system kind of relies on it now. What's your opinion?

It is possible to stop using it - you just have to gradually reduce the dosage to 0 while monitoring Nitrates.
