does it usually fill up to 0.9 or 0.8? I used to get 0.8 when I pulled up to the 1 ml but I replaced the syringes and now its 0.9! How is that possible? Do you have the tip hanging down in all of them on the stopper. that has to be whats making the difference which totally gives different levels. The chemicals in the regent espially the alk removes the ink so then you cant read and have to replace them and it sucks to because different syringes give different levels thats why its so important that I know which one red sea uses so I know which to order and use. I have a few of each type but replaced all on the red sea because I couldnt read the and only after using a few times at that!

Does it matter if the syringe stopper has the black little tip hanging down? Some of the ink came off the syringes so I bought more off amazon and cant remember which brand of test kit came with which tip. It really shouldnt matter i know because 1 ml is suppose to be 1 ml but I have noticed that espially in the 10 ml syringes they all are different. Espially when you are preforming a test like Hanna checker or API that has a line that tells you how far to fill! I wish they all had lines where you are supposed to fill so now I am trying to use the same syringe for each individual test and I only know if I remember to put back in the box! LOL At least that way the results would be consistent! One thing I know is red sea alk is giving me way higher alk than hanna checker, like 1.5 more. makes no sense and dont know which is right or how much to dose!

What is the difference about 420 to 440 ca? You can have if is 425 or 430 or 435 440 is not big difference? So means is not big deal? Just don't pass over 440 ppm? Same as kh and mg? Thanks

I've noticed that its more important to focus on the changes in color rather than chasing a specific color. The specific color is a reference point but the changes in color are a good variable to where you are generally around

What happens if your calcium and alk is too high ? How to lower it to the Desired lv ? Is it by doing water change ?

on what do I measure 440ppm please so I'm putting correct Ca I've bought the RedSea Ree Foundation ABC+ as friend at RedSea said it'll save me lotsa pennies. So can you educate me on usage once gone thru 3 tests please?

Api is sooooo much faster but this does give you an exact dkh, where as api just counts drops used to change color so I usally take 8 or 9. SoI am either 8 or 9, but I am sure I am somewhere in between. Saltwater aquarium gives this kit free if you spend 500 bucks and I am getting radions so Api doesn't have a magnesium in their kit which I find odd. I love their carrying case with a handle. Its like a mini cleaning tray and I carry from room to room. I have a reef kit and a master salt water kit and they both fit in one tray that I can carry around. Their kit is never more than a 2 part either, never 3

You were waiting for the alkalinity test to turn red. I have the same kit and the instructions say to look for an orange color. When I test I always get a final color of caramel or a light brown color but never red or orange.

I find the kit changes from blue -> green -> yellow -> orange. Did anyone resolve this question?

@@memollywithay I think RedSea has changed their kit a tad. My KH card is different from the video. Some of my agent tops are also different colors. If you are changing yours to orange, you are way over. Per the card, yellow is too much and you went too far. You really just need to follow the cards included in your kit. This video is a few years old already.

You are starting with 1.0ml of reagent in the syringe. He used the reagent to the .18 mark of the syringe into the test vial. .18 subtracted from the 1.0 total in the syringe equals .82ml added to the test vial for the color change.

My sodium hydroxide (Ca C) froze and leaked in transit, will this affect it or the results at all?

Dave , why would Red Sea print 2 different test cat cards for using Pro test kit. Alkalinity you have a card that shows blue to red. One I've bought in England showing blue to GREEN???? THE LAST REPLY YOU HAD WAS 8 MONTHS AGO, DON'T YOU RUN THIS SITE ANYMORE!!!
