i agree, i have this same skimmer 900, and the same tank ! its still “running in” as its a brand new setup, but so far im really happy, and mine is super quiet. looking forward to more updates on your peninsula.

Great channel. I have a 600 on my RSM S 500 system. I absolutely love it. I have chato in my sump with a kessil grow light. Not tried a scrubber because it is something else that needs maintenance and could fail. More Shark vids please ;)

Cool video I know what you mean about that acrylic adjustment knob. I have a skimms skimmer with that type of water flow adjustment knob and one day it just broke off

Same thing happened with my replacement acrylic knob so now I just have one super glued and on stand by so now I swap out the the adjustment knobs when one brakes. 🤷‍♂️

Tank looks small for that size. I use the 600 on my 180 reef. But if you have enough organic load to fill that then good....

I like the review! Could the noise be because it’s touching the side of the sump and that chamber is small? I find that when my pumps and skimmer are touching the side it makes a lot more noise?

Reefing with O Thanks. I checked and it looks clear of contact. I think it is mostly bubble noise. There is not much vibration since the pump runs smooth like butter. Perhaps this version just needs a bigger silencer. It is not a tone of noise though. Just average for a skimmer. It does not bother me but it is not for those who want a stealth build. I would get the skimmer again. It is a beast at skimming!

Any micro bubbles getting in you tank? My 300 is putting micro bubbles in DT. Reefer 250.. very frustrating

Gimme free stuff! also good reef content 3rd update... Algae scrubbers i've read a lot about and everyone seems to replace chaeto reactors with scrubbers. They perform better.

Seen a vid were someone put airline hosing on the silencer inlets to quiet it down. Also on reef2reef someone 3D printed a quieter silencer.

Rsk 900 is too big for Your tank. When you wash the water of everything, you change it to a smaller one. Oversizing...come on Man, it was fashionable 10 years ago. I believed it myself, until the aquarium was changed to an even bigger one. Now I have 680l in circulation with SPS, LPS, 15 fish - rsk 600 is excellent. Earlier I had a skimmer with parameters rsk 900, my parameters went down to zero no3 and po4 - sps started to fall ... Water in the aquarium was as after RODI ;-) After changing to rsk 600 - 3 months I saved corals from death. Now everything is beautiful growing, water is crystal.

Tony, I disagree. I too have the RSK900 on my P650. All my corals are thriving and growing. I have a mixed reef including SPS. I highly doubt it was bec of your tank being too clean from the skimmer without considering other factors. I'm sure Red Sea did their due diligence in research and development to rate tank size and tank type (reef or fish only). Just my opinion, but I don't see the issue with my tank.
