this means the world to me man. I'm so glad you are enjoying the channel, and that is gives you good feelings. thats my favorite part about movies. it doesn't matter how many years have passed. you will always remember the emotion that a particular movie holds for you. My big comfort movie is The 13th Warrior. which I know sounds bizarre as a comfort movie. But I remember my dad bought the movie on Pay Per View probably 20 times. I kept telling him to just go and buy the movie, but he never did lol. But when I want to return to my childhood and those days, I will always watch The 13th Warrior.

My brother passed on also and we also watched a lot of movies together, this being one of them . But have to tell a story behind watching this movie with him ( not that you'll ever see this ) . When this came out on VHS, my brother called me into the kitchen, when I walked in he threw pepper in my face . He from watching movies and cartoons thought it would make me sneeze. Problem was it went straight into my eyes. So I watched entire movie with one eye .I literally had to hold one eye closed it burnt so bad even after constantly washing both out .

actually the individual responsible for the chain mail bikini look is a man called Frank Frazetta, who got his start in 1944, but i'm not gonna go over his whole thing here, i'm sure he's been covered on youtube a few times already, anywho, he did some art for conan here and their and his style is what influenced the entire chainmail bikini thing, sure conan and red sonja made it popular and bumped it into main stream, but it all started with frank, heck even, Yusuke Nakaon, lead artist for Legend of Zelda, names frank as a big part of his inspiration, in fact, one of the early designs he'd done for link in i think link to the past or oot had his dressing more barbaric, but nintendo didn't like steering away from the titular green tunic so it was scrapped, i think it's part of the reason theirs a barbarian style set in breath of the wild possibley

Hihi, another good one! More curious observations: 1. Sonya's sister is named Varna - a.k.a port in Bulgaria where count Dracula harboured while running from Van Helsing and friends in 19th century. 2. The evil queen is actually Valeria - Conan's lover from "Conan the Barbarian". Also she is imo much more beautiful than Sonya. For me it's like in Superman 2 where the evil woman (don't you play your games with me) is prettier than Lois Lane. 3. The evil king, killed by Sonya, is the German giant soldier, killed by the airplane propeller, in "Indiana Jones 1". He also plays the giant henchman in "Indiana Jones 2" and apparently has a role in "Indiana Jones 3". The first 2 observations date since I was a teen. The third one I just found out when I checked imdb, but it's still fun.
@RedEyeReviews3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! The queen is very pretty, but I'm Irish, so I can't get away from Redheads lol. So she never stood a chance against Sonja in my head. That giant German is in SO many movies lol. I see him all over the movies I review

@@RedEyeReviews no, than you my friend. My high school and college days I don't necessarily think about the parties I went to. It was the nights where a handful of friends just chilled out and watched bad films whether it was horror or action. When you see those moments of overacting, or a terrible take that somehow made it to final cut. We watched, someone made a zinger of a comment and the room erupts in laughter for an extended period of time. Many times to the point where we need to pause and/or back it up to relive the moment on film and erupt again. Keep doing what you are doing. Game recognizes game. And I love what you do on the channel.

This movie is a copyright dodge within a copyright dodge, wrapped in a repackaging, because the creator of Conan, Robert E. Howard didn't create Red Sonja. No, he created Red Sonya, who lived in the Renaissance rather than the Hyborian age, but the comic publishers couldn't get the rights to the Y spelling and wanted to ape off the the Conan popularity so they changed the spelling and inserted her into the wrong time period.

In high school, I played football with a kid named Schoenenberger. His name didn't fit on his jersey, so they shortened it to Sc'Berger ... so people started calling him Sc'Berg. Some people could get away with it, and others couldn't. It was high school, after all.
