Raffy, my man ! We desperately needed that one before this trip to Texas. From now on it’s a tough schedule, my hope is to at least play .500 until the relievers and Casas comes back. From there on, going all in and peak at the right time. It is going to be hard, we’re going to fumble a few and it won’t be pretty sometimes because of the defence but at least we’re in the race. This team is still being rebuild, we’re far from a “final product”…

The series was a recovery series. The team saw management supporting them 8n their quest. Here's my take on the team at this point. First, I'm delighted we have a left-hand pitcher in the rotation. I think that's long overdue. The new catcher is an upgrade at that position demonstrated by his play the last two games. The bullpen has been upgraded, and Sims had a big contribution in the last game. Sogard was activated to improve defense at shortstop. We've yet to see that playout yet but that should happen soon. Grissom will be back at 2nd by August 8th. The defense should get better as well. Maybe this time, his offense will improve as well. Casas should follow about 10 days later. The only negative is the back problems Jansen is having. Quietly in the background, Breslow signed all the draft picks.

It was good to see a series win, and at least this year the Sox games are much more interesting than the past two. Will be fun to see how Cora puts together lineups once the team is fully healthy or at least as healthy as they have been in a long time. I am still convinced that the team will fall short of the playoffs this year due to 2 things that have come up since the all-star break. Defense is the worst in MLB and 13 errors in 12 games with a lot more mental mistakes to go along with that will not get you anywhere. I know you said they can shore up and improve that over the last two months, but this has been going on for the 3rd straight season, and it is actually getting worse each year. Not sure how they can fix it at this point. Also Starting pitching is still going to be a big problem. 3 young pitchers who are over their max innings pitched in a season is not good. I think you will see a bunch of tired arms the next two months, but that is normal these days and they can't put limits on number of innings pitched or you will see the bullpen fall apart. This was why I said in April, they will be in contention up to the All Star break but then fade. Breslow should of gotten at least 1 other Starter besides Paxton who has the injury history. Still will be fun to see that offense and get glimpses as to what the Sox will be like in the next couple of seasons.
@redseatradio2 ай бұрын
Yeah Cora working with this full team will be super interesting
@markmccarthy78872 ай бұрын
Kpax pitched pretty well I think he’s going to help. Additions of Lucas and Garcia is absolutely huge. Tyler Oniel is going to be huge down the stretch he needs to stay hot as our best right handed bat.
@redseatradio2 ай бұрын

@Bondagefetishstore2 ай бұрын
II am very worried about the starting pitching. In a way I am glad they did not trade Nick Privetta. They are almost all over inning pitched in a season. Even Paxton is close to last season. I have been advocating for a 6 man rotation for a while now. Criswell has been good and deserves to be in the rotation. I think can extra day would do everyone good. Over the month of August the Red Sox will be adding 4 high end relievers. So that means 4 pitchers will be heading to the minors. Garcia will be here tomorrow. Marin should be back at the end of next week. I expect Slaten the week after and then Hendricks 2 weeks after. Tomorrow Hendricks gets looked at by the doctor who preformed his surgery. Grissom should be back anytime but if Sogard is decent Grissom may open time in the minors at second base. Casas should be back by the end of next week also. He may not play everyday at least at first. Remember he also starts hitting slow. I am overly optimistic. Jansen has 2 hits in each of the games he played. He also looked good behind the plate. I think this is going to be a sneaky good deal. He may help stabilize the rotation. The Red Sox get 2 september call ups I expect them to be Grissom and Priest.

These next 6 games could very well be a deciding factor if they make the Wild Card playing against teams competing for Wild Card. The pitching has gotten progressively worse but realist fans knew that seeing their Staff ERA going from2, in April to 6 ERA in July

Love the vids Corbin! Was wondering if you think there’s genuine faith in the return of Grissom? Also, being a righty bat, do you think they’d send Sogard or Hamilton down? Also, getting Garcia, Slaten, and Martin back (and possibly Hendriks) - Do you think Horn, Booser, and Criswell get sent down? Just wanted to hear your thoughts on how the 26 man shapes out. Thanks!

Weissart+Fitts have come down to reality now. Martin+Slanten+Casas+Heindricks are still injured for some time. Only Vaughn can return, but Sogard should try to buy Grissom more time. Luis Garcia replaces Bailey Horn. The RS is the best available team until Casas returns. Corbin, I have noticed that sometimes you underestimate possible delays in injury returns. Mazz said on July 3 that Casas would take a month to get back to speed.

Casas himself said he thinks it’ll be a week and the medical staff agreed

Devers saved our Bacon. The key to the Sox is the D. Playing this goofy D is costing them games. It's forcing the Pitching to overextend itself and it's pressing the hitters to make up for it. You can't continue to give MLB teams extra outs. If they don't fix this ASAP they can't make the Playoffs. So the fact that they did nothing to address the IF D during the trade deadline was a bad nightmare.

Sims got out of the jam in a close game. Garcia being activated Friday makes things a lot better. If Breslow had been more aggressive in reinforcing the bullpen when Martin / Slaten went down - they could have been in a better place after the All Star Break. 4 and 8 could arguably have been an 8-4 record. If that had happened the Sox would be in the second wild card slot only 1.5 games behind the Yankees. I hope this lesson has sunk into Breslow’s psyche, as he manages the roster.

Shameful. No team needs or can continue to score 11 or 13 runs to win or lose a game. Yes, lose. Sometimes, they score 9 or 10 runs and lose. Unheard of. It's a petty how the opportunity and talent are going to waste. These young players are giving it all, gor very little. Shame on the team owners and directive. Do yo know what's Crawford ERA is in the last two games? 10.24. It's probably higher now. Get pitching.
