Yes those little Red's are feisty Little Things I had one this spring during the covid-19 it sure helped me pass time. Around here in the state of Indiana we also call them Piney squirrels. That's my Bella there in the circle I turned her loose in August it comes back twice a day looks in my glass door and I still feed her. They have a huge vocabulary if you spend any time with him at all you'll get to recognize their sounds and what it means. And yes she's telling everybody these are my sunflower seeds keep away. Remember one thing if you ever tried to raise a squirrel remember you do not own that squirrel that squirrel owns you

A friend in construction recently had a baby red squirrel approach him while he was at work in Springfield OR. I'm a retired logger squirrel nanny. He is still on milk diet.

Tiniest love muffin ever!! What a healthy appetite. Around here the red squirrels are all under investigation for repeated assault and battery on the black and grey squirrels. They beat those bigger guys like drums.

they get so excited about food they can literally sieze up. i used to have to tap my baby TakTak on his head with my finger to stop the seizure. after a few seconds they go right back to gobbling!

Aww 🥺 I didn't know this 💔 I'm glad your friend had you.. but I wish I could have contact with my outside squirrel friends... But we're kind of friends from afar. This summer the little reds were outside while I was sometimes. But then when winter came grey squirrels came around for the first time and consistently after that too. And now even fox squirrels .. two have been here. Now I only see one. But I never truly saw them until like the past couple years or so. I never paid attention to them. And I was missing out. Because they are so worth paying attention to! And my life has become way better. They just provide pure happiness I didn't even know could be possible. This said, as someone in recovery. They're truly amazing and everyone should take a moment to truly see that.its a shame it took me so long. But yes anyways I wish I could have the ability to be closer... But at the moment I feed them, they come, and I stay inside admiring from my window 🥺 wishing I knew what their fur felt like. At the moment when I open the door they all run away and it takes a significant amount of time for them to start to come back. So because I don't want to scare them I just stay inside. they're times I have to give them water like today and their was already a big grey out there and it then ran away and didn't come back. That's often exactly what happens. For that day I'm talking about. I considered taking small steps like sitting somewhere afar on my porch but even that seems to scare them away. I don't like scaring them 💔 it makes me feel so bad that I frightened them. I know what that's like to be scared and their fear must be so much more high, as it is, in fear of a different species entirely. Sorry not sure my point anymore, besides just wishing, I could become friends and not scare them.
