Hahah, totally agree, xD. It unfortunately takes ages to upload this in China, since KZbin is blocked here and have to find slow workaround solutions. I'll soon upload the sample sequence in higher resolution a few days later.

Great Video! When you said you crop in to 6k you get quality loss. Are we just talking resolution loss or general quality of the footage?

I’m confused, the Raptor is full frame, but I noticed that you’re using Pictor Zooms. Those lenses are super 35 lenses. How were you able to shoot on them without needing to crop in or experiencing vignetting on the edge of your image? My mind is exploding right now.
@marcelbrandel90782 жыл бұрын
hi, the DZOFilm lenses (Vespid primes & Catta zooms) I used in this review are full frame ones, and the DZOFilm lenses (Pictor zooms) are S35, those would have vignetting on a RED V-Raptor XL.

@@marcelbrandel9078 unless you shoot in crop s35 mode (6K). That's the advantage of having an 8K sensor (you have FF and s35 in one). Did you mention that you consider that mode (s35, 6K) too soft for professional use? Really? 6K is still a respectable resolution (though the Dynamic Range and sensitivity decreases because the smaller sensor area).

So, a review of a cinema camera made by someone saying that cinema lenses slow him down... uhmm.. ahah shouldn't it be the contrary? Photo lenses don't have hard stops so calibrating motors is slower, usually have iris control through the camera, instead than directly on the lens, and they aren't parfocal, meaning that you can't use a lens mapping on the wireless focus because it will be different for each focal lenght, without mentioning less secure mounts. What has the DZO lens more than that beautiful Angenieux EZ zoom that you showed?? Boh. And let's remember, DSMC3 is the first generation of Red cameras that doesn't need too much "calibration" to go from indoor to outdoor hoping it won't overheat and stop working like the DSMC2 were doing. Mhh.. I will never understand Red fans. Regarding frying the SDI ports, it's always valid the golden rule: first connect power cables, and then sdi cables. When you need to switch battery or anyway disconnect the battery, first disconnect the sdi cable and then disconnect the battery. Never connect or disconnect batteries or power cables when SDI is connected.
