Some reasons why Bye Bye sounds familiar: 1. That Wendy "I only had love for you..." line went viral on TikTok. 2. This song samples Beethoven's Fur Elise (yes the classical music) P.S. Birthday also sampled another classical piece from Gershwin.

ZOOM is one of my all time favorite B-sides. Everything about it. The instrumentation, tha sass, tha attitude.... It's the epitome of "Caught you, you lying b*st*rd!"

"Birthday" is the song need good music knowledge in order to understand it, we know the previous TT is "Feel my Rhythm" which use classical sample, "Birthday" starts with a short sample from "Rhapsody in Blue", this is the music that combines classical and jazz music, this song use the idea of it which mix all kinds of music elements form early jazz to EDM, rock, hip-hop, etc. You can imagine this song is a Kaleidoscope, each music element is like the colored piece. Red velvet never made bad music, just sometimes over many people's head.

The live performances were awesome for many of these songs in the recent R to V Concert. The choreo was spectacular too! There were so many Easter eggs in the MV it was awesome😂🎉. Notice Seulgi’s choice of weapon was the chain 😂

tbh, been here for 9 years and listening to red velvet have never got me worried about hearing a song not aligned to my taste (tho that very rarely happens) because the vocals make up for it. its insane to me how someone found these five and put them in a group, like you have gotta be a genius. a friend told me then that she wanna have red velvet's discography for her fave but that got me thinking, their discography is great not just because of the production aspect but vocals held an equal amount of contribution to it, might be even more. they achieved this very celebrated discography because its their vocals thats in there. you had to have these set of vocals, their greatness to be able to handle these songs. Its even more impressive to me knowing that the members especially wendy (i mean she does the demo of their songs) have so much say in the production and how much they know their craft.

birthday is Red Velvet's most hated Title Track not only by GP who listen to Red Velvet but also by lots of reveluvs themselves. and i can totally understand why lots of people don't like the song. the other tracks on the album are fire tho, especially Zoom & BYE BYE. and till this day i still think if only Red Velvet choose either of BYE BYE, On a Ride, or Zoom to be the title track instead of Birthday this comeback would be so much more succesfull and definitely less hated now.
