@@whatisthatomg101yess and it's kinda unfortunate that they were only judges so they couldn't actually train contestants (probably because the contestants were already established singers) but that lineup would've been perfect as mentors for an actual trainees program

I don’t think Wendy had it hard in terms of vocal coaching. Even before SM she was vocally trained in canada, that’s why she is better than most kpop idols. The kpop vocal coaches themselves aren’t as good as her.

Wendy's vocal teaching method is hands on just Cheng Xiao's dance choreography method is hands on. I like that they both don't just tell the contestant what to do and expect them to understand and try it out later on their own. They both show an example on the spot and have you try the new approach in front of them so you can see it for yourself that it actually works in real time. These girls are the real deal. I want them in to be judges in the same show. Imagine the the dance and vocals skills the debuting group would have if they were the mentors.

Wendy's just been so passionate about singing since her teens! So much practice and constantly learning new things, made her the vocal master she is! But the impressive thing here is how fast she caught up the issue affecting the singers in the show and immediately thought of a solution. Now THAT's what you call a Master/Mentor who literally can help you improve your craft

Now this is what I would like to see in mentors for kpop survival shows. Instead of criticizing them and demotivating them, we need mentors that genuinely want the contestants to improve and grow. I am tired of watching “mentors” scold the kids when they’re there to learn and improve their skills. Yelling at them in front of everyone doesn’t improve their skills. We need someone like Wendy or Soyeon that help them improve and take time to understand their potential.

Wendy has very good vocal technique before she joined to SM, but her musicality highly improved recently. Yo can compare her singing at "Lee Mujin Service" youtube channel with previous one. If she can choose good songs in her NEXT solo album, she will at the level of Taeyeon (SNSD/Girl Generation).
