Red Via Alpina solo hike: 107 days of Alps with English voiceover - Thru-Hike Trail Documentary

A documentary about a long-distance hike across the whole Alps, from Monaco to Trieste by Red Via Alpina mountain trail. Igor walked 2640 km (1640 miles) thru 8 European countries in 107 days.
The documentary offers a view of the beautiful mountain massive Alps in Europe. It is also a view of real-life on the way: challenges, troubles, blessings, health benefits of hiking, and things to enjoy. The film also brings personal growth while battling the path which reflects in wise thoughts and views on life.

Great achievement and reportage. Was a pleasure to watch. You look so much fitter (ligther) towards the end! I want to hike Vienna to Locarno summer next year and Locarno to Ventimiglia the year after. I will carry no more than about 7kg and sleep in houses only.

You can test what energy consumption is when you hike 12 hours a day. Multiplied with 107 days. It is good to have some energy reserves, stored in the purest form - body fat. Good luck with your hikes.

@@viaalpina-direct I do have some energy reserves as well but I try keeping them low. To much means suffering uphill. Good luck to you as well with potential future hiking projects or just "normal" dayhikes.

Great video thanks for the share. And big congrats. If you don’t mind a few questions: what was your month of departure and what did you use for navigation (which app?). Also, did you have to pre-book most accomodations or is it okay to stay flexible and just drop in with reserving most places?

Thank you for your response. Early june. Garmin hiking GPS & Backcountry navigator on my android phone. I didn't book most of acomodations. I had some problems in more crouded places (tour du Mont Blanc, Via Dolomiti) but usualy no problem. In the cities, towns I used booking when aproaching the place, it usualy spared me some additional walking.

Thank you. Tent camping in camps. Bivacking betwen 20.00 and 8.00, withouth fire and no trace allowed in most places, except in protected areas.
