i'm not sure if any of you will ever read this, but your music is a huge inspiration to me. not only have your songs inspired me to be more experimental with my own art, i started playing the guitar again after 5 years of not playing after i fell in love with another light. it's not just that, though - it's inspired me to push on. your music came to me just before an incredibly hard and confusing time in my life, and i'm so grateful for it. i would be in a much worse place if i hadn't discovered your music. i owe you so much more than can be paid but hope a thank you, from the bottom of my heart, could be a good start to repay that debt. for every miserable day you've made easier to get through, for my rekindled love of rock and the guitar, for the hope i would have lost, for the friends i've made through your music, and for the hours and hours of sweet tunes... thank you. and of course congrats on the release of realign. this is some of your best work. i don't know how you keep topping yourselves, but it is nothing short of impressive. i'm absolutely in love with this album, and i can't figure out how to put it into words better than that. I've been suffering from severe depression for around 3 years now, but every time I put this album on and just zone out to meditate it always makes me feel at peace and calm. It's a beautiful album that has been with me through many nights of tears and sadness. I've been listening to Red Vox since the release of Another Light, and I always come back to this album and just their discography in general whenever I need to just listen to some music that will make me feel at ease. They've definitely made a lifelong fan out of me, and I'm more than grateful for the music they've given us for what it's helped me get through. With all the crazy going on, we need something to help realign back to a path forward out of this mess. I figure for many of us, this will be a big help in that. Outstanding album. While it isn't my personal favorite of Red Vox's, it's definitely a close 2nd or 3rd depending on the day. That new ending on Ozymandias made my jaw drop to the floor in joy. This style of heavy synths and psychedelic atmospheres fits perfectly with Red Vox. [WARNING: LARGE AMOUNT OF TEXT AHEAD] One thing I love about each of the five major projects that Red Vox have released (so far) is that each one is distinctly different from each other and have different aspects that make them special while still being somewhat similar sonically. You could tell me that any of them (even Blood Bagel) was your favorite Red Vox release and I'd perfectly understand. There isn't really any definitive "best album" from Red Vox (or even any that I would say are definitively "better" than any other project) from what I've seen in the comments of these videos. My personal ranking from favorite to least favorite (at the time of typing this) would probably be: 1. Another Light 2. Kerosene 3. Realign 4. Blood Bagel 5. What Could Go Wrong Even though What Could Go Wrong is my least favorite, that doesn't mean I didn't like it; far from it, actually. I still think it's a great album, and the only major complaints I have with it is that some of the songs feel a bit samey and that it's still a bit rough around the edges vocally. The fact that it's still fantastic just a testament to the quality of Red Vox's discography. And, as I mentioned, Kerosene and Realign switch places frequently depending on how I feel in that moment. jesus christ maybe i should just make a video essay instead of typing all this shit out in youtube comments

listening to the album for a second time this is the perfect follow up album to another light. another light was about shifting perspective and recognizing problems you have with yourself or others and where you went wrong. This album is about acknowledging your own faults and putting events in motion to change and fix things to the best of your ability its about movement and momentum with your own character that was brought in from another light and delivered with realign. it does the concept exceptional justice just as another light did, properly portraying the emotions that come with change and well, realigning yourself. I cannot really understand how not more people love this band.
@dante.nathanael4 жыл бұрын
Your analysis just gave me a heartfelt reassurence on where I'm on my life right now. Another light accompanied me in an addressal of my character, goals and everyday actions. I became bitter, outcast, unable to communicate what was happening to me. Realign comes at a time when I just left all those things behind, the relationships I couldn't get over with, and the excuses I said to myself to just blame others for my own misery. It reminds me of a song recently released by Babasonicos, "Suficiente," that says "the last 5 years have been a disaster. . . . My last three relationships blew. . . . I don't know if this is happening to anyone, but it's happening to me." It's nice to see how much I've grown.

I feel like Realign has more structure to it as an album than Another Light, while Another Light had more variety and hit songs you can listen to on their own Realign is more of an album you can turn on and just listen to all the way through every time, i can't listen to just one song. I can listen to it in the background while i do stuff and that's an impressive feat since i personally find "background music" to be either too distracting or too bland to enjoy.
@HolyCyborgwaffle4 жыл бұрын
IMO I'd say it's the other way around, another light's first half were structured to be listen to in order and the other half trails off with more variety, Ex I'm so happy/sad works better in tandem rather than individual songs. but yeah I usually play red vox while cleaning to drown out reality a bit.

Life can't have plans for you, you decide, if you were pushed into a different career path or whatever then just change. You literally just have to do it, even if you aren't successful and don't make as much money, I'd rather die then stop doing what I love. The point of life is doing what you love, life's plans are yours, so pursue what you love. Get a job waiting tables and get an apartment with a couple of joes to save money on rent, then spend the bulk of your time pursuing your dreams. It may not be a life where you'll be sleeping in pools of cash, but who needs such arbitrary measures of success? Success to me is when you are living a fruitful life doing what you enjoy, whatever that looks like for you, just do it.

LYRICS Realign: [Chorus] On my own, on my time All I'm leaving is a past behind For my soul, for my mind All I need is what I'm yet to find [Verse 1] How low will this one go? How long will this one be around and come to despise me? How far will this one go? How long does this go on and on and on? [Chorus] On my own, on my time All I'm leaving is a past behind For my soul, for my mind All I need is what I'm yet to find [Bridge] And I know you never pulled my arm Believe you me But the only way to do no harm Is to leave, leave, leave [Verse 2] How far does this one go? (Don't wanna hear about it, don't wanna hear about it) How hard is it to keep in mind that life isn't ending? How long will this one stay? (Don't wanna hear about it, don't need to know about it) How long does this go on and on and on and on? [Bridge] And you know I never meant no harm Believe you me But the only way to do no wrong Is to leave, leave, leave [Chorus] On my own, on my time All I needed was the peace of mind Off the phone, off the line There's a better way to spend the time On my own, on my time All I'm leaving is a past behind For my soul, for my mind All I need's a little peace of mind [Outro] All I'm leaving is a past behind All I need's a little peace of mind Why Can't This Be Easy: [Verse 1] So tell me, tell me, why can't this be easy? I've heard it once, I've heard it all before So settle down, relax yourself completely You can't get down if you're always in control [Chorus] Here out so far It's a long way, long way back I've never been so far before Here out so far It's a long way, long way back I've never been so far before [Verse 2] So if you're wondering how you walk away You bide your time and wait just like you do [Chorus] Here out so far It's a long way, long way back I've never been so far before Here out so far It's a long way, long way back I've never been so far before [Verse 3] So tell me, tell me, why can't this be easy? Reeling From The Rafters: They got you reeling from the rafters And feeling farther from yourself A simple feeling that you're after But one that tears yourself apart They got you reeling from the rafters Until you feel it in your heart But there's no pleasing the new masters Outside of living in the dark You close your eyes, you see them come to life They know the way, their whispers cold and grey And for a while, you find you're in denial for two They got you reeling from the rafters But there's still time to change your part Chewing the scene just like an actor While the whole building comes apart You close your eyes, you see them come to life They know the way, their whispers cold and grey And for a while, you find you're in the human zoo The Reason This Is Happening: You are the reason this is happening You are the reason this is happening Who you are is the reason this is happening You are, you are When you put it in check but you get it in cash When your days are goin' slow but you're traveling fast When you're in the right lane but you're on the wrong track Gotta give it up, gotta take it out back There's a radio drone up the side of your head When you write it all down 'cause it can't be said You are, you are, you are You are the reason this is happening Who you are is the reason this is happening Gotta give it up 'Cause you say it out loud doesn't make it mean jack When you put yourself up but you pull yourself back When you're settled in stone but it cracks You gotta give it up, gotta take it out back

Apathetic Empathy: [Verse 1] Well, I could try my best to help, but I don't know you And there's only so much difference it could make I could try my best to save you but I'm weighed down If I push it any further, I might sink [Chorus 1] To see another breakdown See you come apart Really brings my world down Really breaks my heart You see them every day now See 'em go too far You know it's not too late now For another start [Verse 2] I could try my best to help, but does it matter? If you need someone, you have to want to change I could play that part and put it on my shoulder But I do not have the discipline it takes [Chorus 2] See you come apart now To see you fall apart Really brings my world down Really breaks my heart See you on the way down But never for too long There always was a way out You knew it all along Be Someone Forever: [Verse 1] Don't you wanna be someone forever, forever? You can let them see you all the time Don't you want to be a great pretender, pretender? Don't you wanna be someone? [Chorus] Did you ever feel afraid? Did you ever feel the shame? Did you ever feel the pain? Did you ever feel it? Did you ever rearrange? Did you ever need to change? Did you ever feel the same? Did you ever feel it? [Verse 2] Don't you want to be someone but better, but better? Don't you want to seem like you're divine? Leave a memory behind forever, forever Then you'll always be someone [Chorus] Did you ever feel afraid? Did you ever feel the shame? Did you ever feel the pain? Did you ever feel it? Did you ever rearrange? Did you ever have to change? Did you ever feel the same? Did you ever feel it? [Outro] I don't know where we're going to With these eyes on me and these eyes on you Make believe there's a point of view That you never lose when they come for you I don't know what you want from me What you're looking for, what I'm supposed to be Maybe I just don't wanna see What I mean to you, what you mean to me

Ozymandias: [Verse 1] Half sunk, the mighty face These words upon the base Nothing beside remains Of the man who was born and died a king Look on this mighty place Now gone without a trace Lost to the long decay In the land of the valley of the king [Bridge] Memory cloaked in shadow Here the river runs shallow All will be mystery All will be remedied [Verse 2] Once sat upon the throne What's left, made of stone Ravaged, left to erode By the winds of the valley of the king None stand against the flow How water smooths the stone To pass all that we know A demand of the spirit within Far Away: [Verse 1] When you're here, you're far away When you're here, you're far away When you're here, you're far away When you're here You can see it up above, down below In the wake of the flow You can see it in your highs, in your lows Let it teach, let it go [Verse 2] When you're here, you're far away When you're here You can hear it in a sound, as you breathe Ebb and flow, float upstream You can hear it in a laugh, in a scream When you wake from the dream [Verse 3] When you're here, you're far away When you're here, you're far When you're here, you're far away When you're here You can feel it in the rain, in the field As the green is revealed You can feel it on the grass, in the heat To the cool of the breeze You can feel it in the glow of the leaves As they fall from the trees You can feel it on a cold winter eve As the crows fall asleep

Return the Call: You know they won't be needed to return the call, if they're already gone Believed to be receiving, could be too far gone, they're spiteful and withdrawn Seems to be a consequence of feeling alone, don’t know where they belong No, they won't be leaving any time at all, content to look behind Consuming and depleting everything around, but never satisfied Now they'll be deciding who is worth the most, until they change their minds If only they'd conceivably untie the knot of global suicide You know they won't believe it if they see a ghost, you think they're ready for this? No one even looks up at the stars anymore, who'd think they're not alone? It wouldn't be impossible to save themselves, if only they would try I Don't Mean To Complain: They, they want you to be afraid of everyone They, they want you to feel that way for good But I don't mean to complain, I promise What did you say? I couldn't hear But I don't mean to complain, I promise It didn't help to lend an ear They, they want you to be that way with everyone They, they want you to need to change for them But I don't mean to complain, I promise What did you say? I couldn't hear But I don't mean to complain, I promise Whatever hell to pay is near Well, it started to hit you at a quarter to five The only thing left was the dopamine high You started to wonder if your life was a lie But who really cares when everything is on fire? So hello, hello, won't you go away? Now go away Hello, hello, won't you ever go away? Now go Some are in deep, some are up high The cynical mind is always dissatisfied Some are indifferent, some in denial It's hard to complain but you try for a while So hello, hello, won't you go away? Now go away Just ignore it, it'll go away, now go It's just too boring make it go away, just go away It's not important, let it go away, just go

Anesthesia: [Intro] Wake from the dream [Chorus] Hey, why do I feel this way? I can't remember Hey, I'm ticking the time away On anesthesia Hey, why do I feel this way? I can't remember why I forgot my way [Verse] Wait for a day or two What's the rush? Where's the world going to? Wake from the dream Don't you know it's not always as it seems? [Chorus] Hey, why do I feel this way? I can't remember Hey, I'm ticking the time away On anesthesia Hey, why do I feel this way? I can't remember why I forgot my place Better On The Outside: I feel the bitter of the cold I'm feeling better on the outside I think I'm better left alone Feeling better on the outside Think I'm better on the outside I really mean it, I really, really mean it when I say It's hard to see it in every single one that I know I really mean it, I really, really mean it when I say I tried to leave it and altogether stop on my own Some things are better left unknown I'm no better on the outside I feel the bitter of the cold A little better on the outside I really mean it, I really, really mean it when I say It's sad to see it in every single one that you know You can't defeat it if nobody lends you a hand You can't redeem it if you're all alone 'Cause there's no stopping you and me We need a new horizon that we work to reach Shared responsibility Never motivated by a threat or three Isolated from the dream You got a healthy limit but it's hard to keep Separate reality Gotta make amends with what we used to be

Red Vox is basically a way Vinny can share his soul and emotions and he and the band create such a masterful piece each and every time. And this was quite the tapestry of emotion and sound.

I enjoy Vinesauce a lot and have been watching loosely for years, but like just every now and then. Somehow I didn't know Vinny made music until now and oh my god this is something that I'd genuinely listen to on my own time. Like this exact genre and all. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!
