Red, White and Royal Blue - Henry's Chapter Book Reaction "You and me"

What a beautiful chapter and a great end to this journey. While I am sad too see it go this was a lovely way too see it end, to finally get some Henry POV was so amazing and to hear about their lives over 5ish years after the events of the book was just too cute. All good think must come too an end though. Now I just can't wait for the re-watch of the movie and to move to a new book and fall in love with some new characters, though Henry and Alex will always be in my heart.

I’m content on how Henry’s chapter” ended the book. Glad they didn’t jump into living together right away. The brownstone was a place for Henry to get to know himself living outside of the crown, and after years of living in the brownstone, he was able to find himself and also get to know himself with Alex as well, and then moving to Texas it’s even better how they evolved And blossom together over the years. I hope that Henry’s chapter is the framework for a sequel. Now a lot of those fiction art that’s online makes sense to me after reading Henry’s chapter. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into getting this together.

I might be wrong, but I got the feeling that you got a sense of closure with this Henry chapter. If you did, I'm happy because that's how I felt as well. I'm that kind of person who loves movies that have like shots of the people's futures after the ending, you know? My favorite example is Sweet Home Alabama. BTW, if you've never watched it, you should!! I think this vignettes through the years in their relationship did exactly that for me. Oh! Another movie that has something a little like this is He's Just Not That Into You. Have you watched it? If you haven't, again: you should!! I was a fan of them not jumping into living together right away. They needed a kind of independency they had never really had before becoming a couple who lived together, I think. I remember feeling exactly like you when I read about Henry feeling the cold on his ankles and that helping him realize that he was wearing Alex' clothes. That vignette is one of my favorites because it's when Henry finally realizes he doesn't wanna go back permanently. I adore, adore, adore that last bit of Alex presenting Henry with the hat, the explanation of why he got him a hat, and Henry loving it. Also, Henry noticing the care Alex took on keeping the bag pristine to give to him, I just love the little things they know and notice about each other. "You and me." What an awesome way to wrap it up! Thanks for taking us on this ride. It's been a pleasure seeing you falling more and more in love with them!! Here's to enjoying more books together!!

Ethan I cannot tell how much I loved your reaction to this. You are charming. I loved the book and movie more than I can say. I feel this final chapter will be a template for what could happen next in the Alex and Henry universe. Casey indicated in a recent interview we haven't seen the end of Alex and Henry. I hope not. Anyway, Ill order "Boy Friend Material "tomorrow. If another book ends up winning the poll , Ill get that one too. Watching your wonderful reaction made my day. There's the entire sequel in that one chapter! Red, White and Royal Blue 2!!! If there needs to be conflict there could be family drama, stress, doubts, etc..

I bought the version of the book with this character. I was thinking I need a second book but now... I kinda don't want it forced cause it's in such a good place. Maybe a short story about the engagement and wedding itself but that's about it. I'd be fully content and this book has relit my drive to find my Prince Henry.😊

I was excitedly squealing the whole time I read this chapter, it was so freaking cute! Like it killed me! I NEED MORE! I can’t! I just love having Henry’s perspective and I want more of it! Don’t mind me freaking out and obsessing over this story, I just love it so much!

I love this epilogue, and it was great to hear you reading it. Man! I wish we had seen in the movie that part when Pez arrives like the cavalry to protect Henry from his handlers. My experience with the book is totally the opposite from yours. First I bought the version for Kindle and read it on my phone. Then I got the audiobook (narrated wonderfully by Ramón de Ocampo) and listened to it like 5 times. Then I watched the movie. And THEN I got the Special Edition and read the Epilogue. So, seems like next one will be Boyfriend Material? I started rereading it a couple of days ago, but I think I'll wait for you so I can have it fresh for your reviews. Hopefully you can get the hardcover version with Vanessa Kelly's illustrations, because it's really beautiful!

oh, honey. beurre manie is your friend. kneed a tbs of flour into a tbs of butter so that it doesn't clump. the other is to make a roux which is again 1:1 where you cook the flour lightly in the butter and then add the hot liquid. roux is the basis of tons of sauces including the 4 of the 5 French mother sauces. but Henry committed a cardinal sin which is to expect to get something right under pressure the first time. that's why you have a bf to experiment with before showtime. and for a Bouche Noel on top of it -- not easy.

one of the things i don't get is Dubai and Lagos? both extremely homophobic countries and not a great idea for a high profile gay couple. Lagos is probably Pez's doing, but it still doesn't seem like it's very safe.

I also don't get going to Texas. Austin is a lovely, gay friendly city but most of Texas is full of religious fanatics and is super right wing. They have been terrible to the trans community and women. I think they could make a better choose,

It might be unsafe for the ordinary folks. Henry is probably one of the richest people in the world, and Alex is not poor either so they would not be staying at cheap places. They both are always surrounded by their combined security, so their personal safety should not be an issue. Besides, any attempt at harassing them would cause an international scandal, what country would want that.

so overall i'm sort of conflicted about whether this would be a basis for a sequel. to me this rings a lot of "and they lived happily ever after" which is fine for what it is, but is there enough conflict or drama to make a sequel out of it? i think that any sequel would need to be more than this even if this were fleshed out more. obviously Alex running for some office, but i don't want Henry to just be a politician's wife. i really want Henry to be empowered and his own man and do something really fucking awesome like write a best seller or something. now that he's been freed from his cage he needs to fly. i guess they could make Alex being bi and married to Henry be a big deal even though Jared Pollis (governor of Colorado) and Pete Buttigieg (transportation secretary and former presidential candidate) show that it's really not that big of a deal with Democratic politics. i guess they could kill off Phillip, but that's a little too Young Royals. i am interested in the storyline of Catherine and Alex who are so going to love each other to death. and btw, did Catherine evict Mary or not? that could be the basis of some drama obvs. i guess along with Catherine, they could expand the world to not be so Alex/Henry centric. like wtf is going on with Nora, June and Pez?

As much as I don’t want them to have any more conflict I can see what you mean. I could definitely see struggles about Henry working at all the shelters he has built and that being a big thing, though yes I would want too see him get too writing. Also Alex could be wrapped up in a big law case, who knows

@@ethanclarkreacts yeah, i've been sort of down on the charity stuff because it's so cliche for Henry's set. i half jokingly want Henry to write an autobiography of his and Alex's story (and then read it to us line by line). but yeah, it's sort of hard to top the 0/10 day without like killing somebody off or something like that. Young Royals sort of takes offing Phillip off the table. that and you don't want to do something that jumps the shark. i guess that's why they get paid the Big Bux though. but the main thing for me is i really want Henry to bloom (and not just in the Troye Sivan sense) since he's been so cloistered all of his life. something that shows the world why Alex fell so desperately in love with him. something that shows he's not just a bland boring royal but his own force of nature who is determined to give Alex a run for his money.
