Thanks for the detailed video. I’m deciding between these and the Frye Sabrina Chelsea boots. 🤔

Thank you for watching. My pleasure! The Sabrina Frye boots are gorgeous. I guess it would ultimately be up to you aesthetic wise. I know the Sabrina Chelsea is advertised as having full grain hand worked leather (which will most likely be easier to break in than the Red Wing Chelsea) with a Goodyear Welt, but with the price tag it has I can’t say I trust the quality after watching @trenton&heath video in which Heath resoles one of their other expensive women’s boots. Maybe it’s worth watching since you are torn between both.

hi Darlin, i like both Harriet’s, but i would have go the new design, only because that is going to feel better to walk in. and you’ll have better traction. thank you, Kevin

Thank you for your opinion, Kevin. I suppose it comes down to personal preference and aesthetics. Take care!

Beautiful boots. Would be nice if RW gave dust bags for men's boots. Honestly, I would probably never use them, but the dust bags are a part of the presentation.

I totally agree with you. I have only used a few of mine but it sure feels nice to received them.

Very nice boots. Have not seen a Red Wing with a leather sole, only the nitrile cork. I’ve read leather soles are great for arid climates (they breath and flex).

Hi! Thank you. I hadn’t thought about that and you’re right. There aren’t any men’s boots that are made with a leather sole. And you just taught me something new. Thank you!

Hi Darlin! You helped me out about a year ago with recommending I go with the 7.5 W in the Moc toe. They fit like a dream, thank you! I have both the 8 and 8.5 in the Harriets right now (unfortunately they dont do wide sizes). The 8 feels almost too short and tight width wise, and the 8.5 fits very comfortably out of the box but with normal socks there is some heel slippage. I have a hard time imagining the 8's will give enough so that they are comfortable but am worried that if the 8.5s dont feel tight now that they will be too big eventually. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks always!

Hi Alicia! I remember you :) I am SO happy your Moc toes worked out for you! As for the Harriet’s, I would say to stick with the 8’s EXCEPT you mention they feel short. Usually width wise they will most definitely stretch and conform to your foot, but the length cannot be fixed. If the width is the main concern, stick with the 8’s. But if you are certain they are too short, go with the 8.5’s. Watch my Vlog 2 which explains where exactly your foot should shit writhing a boot. He starts explaining more in depth when I try on the Iron Ranger boots, if you want to skip ahead to that part. But once again, if the boots are too short, definitely go with the 8.5’s. But first, try the 8’s with a thinner sock to make sure the length is “wrong”.

@@DenimDarlin Thank you!! As always, so impressed and grateful for your quick and thoughtful responses. I was leaning towards the 8.5 for a bit because its always nerve racking to choose an expensive boot that feels tight but I tried on the 8s again last night after your note. I think with thinner socks or no socks the 8s are fine. Watching the Vlog 2, my feet are lined up to match the widest parts of the boot and I have thumbs width from the top of my big toe to the front of the shoe. My right foot is wider so it definitely tight at the widest part of my foot and you can see a larger bulge in that spot compared to my left foot. With the 8.5s wearing a thinner sock the boots feels too big and there are no points of tightness. Given that the leather is going to stretch just by regular wear I think its the better choice to go with the 8s. THANK YOU - your content is exactly what people are looking for when investing in a quality boot. This pair will replace 5 pairs of cheaper, less quality boots I have acquired over the years.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out and for trusting and valuing my opinion AND for doing your research before making a decision. I believe you have decided on the correct size. If it’s any comfort to you, I have a girlfriend in Germany who had the same struggle width wise with the Clara. She was patient with the break in, only wearing them a few hours at a time at first, and now the Oro Legacy Clara’s fit her like a dream. Please update me on your journey. Congratulations on your new pair of Harriet’s!! And it is always a pleasure talking to you. Take care :)
