@@jasperzanovich2504 Well you would be wrong in that account. There were plenty of unsavory individuals prowling the western territories after the civil war. It was a perfect storm kind of event, where there were vast stretches of open, nearly lawless territory, wealthy boomtowns and those looking to take advantage of that, both with and without badges and with and without standing in the community. The civil war itself was a watershed moment that shaped a lot of the violence of that period, both ideologically and in terms of the often unspoken and relatively unexplored damage it dealt to the psyche of the nation, particularly those who fought it. It's one of the bright spots, in what would have otherwise been a relatively mundane series of Hollywood "cowboys and Indians." They did a good job of portraying that grey area dynamic, particularly through Micah and Ross, even though it's basically the tail end of the "wild west". It always brings me back to the scene in Deliverance where Lewis (Burt Reynolds) exclaims to Drew (Ronny Cox) "What Law? Where's the law Drew?" Micah was absolutely *not* right in this scene. Three people died in the gang died because of the ferry job, and it was described as a massacre. We don't know exactly what happened, but Hosea is simply correct - "we're running for our lives because of a bad call you made." That's the plot of the game. Viewing death as an "occupational hazard" is fucked up, entirely morally bankrupt. This scene encapsulates why Micah is a terrible person and why we as an audience grow to hate him.
@toastyeditz7 күн бұрын
I think there's an argument to be made for both sides. Realistically, Micah is right. With the life they live, death should be an expected occurrence. But to have such an outlook is what gives an argument for Hosea, because he is morally correct. To view death as nothing more than a minor inconvenience is just simply immoral. Especially if it's towards those that you supposedly call friends or even family.

Death absolutely is an occupational hazard when your occupation is stealing things and shooting people. You're acting like this conversation is happening between 2 cashiers. Micah is indeed morally bankrupt, but he is also right. The sad truth about Micah is that even though he is an amoral sociopath, you can hardly say he's a worse person than most of the gang. Almost everyone in the gang is robbing and killing. The only thing the rest of the gang has over him is loyalty to each other, save for a high honor Arthur who truly does make a difference to those around him even if he does a lot of bad things too.

Micah is one of the Greatest characters in Rockstar's history, the fact he is still talked about and this hated by the fandom all these years later proves that Here's why Micah is not "just a one dimension evil bad guy" Micah spares High Honor Arthur Micah shows concern for his members safety constantly showing concern for Arthur specfically although this is because he values his gang members as tools for Survival rather than actually caring about them as people Micah asks Mary Beth to dance with him and is devestated when she rejects him, shown he has a secret desire to be loved or accepted by a Woman Micah seems like the opposite of a Rat, yes he's a horrible person, a Monster but his plot twist shocked me, i thought he was gonna be one of those characters who are horrible people but Loyalty being one of their redeeming qualities Micah is complex in the fact that we dont really know what his true motivations are, did he really wanna rule with Dutch? Did he use Dutch? Did he respect Arthur deep down despite his hatred of him? Did he plan for Arthur's capture by Colm? Why does Micah stay on his own in the camp, and when everyone goes to sleep its always him sitting at the camp fire in the middle of camp? Why doesnt he sit there in the day time, why does Micah never eat food? In a campfire speech Micah admits he is going to hell, so he's aware of his evil, but is he broken? What got him to do this level of immorality? If Micah was a True Rat, then why has he betraying the Pinkertons in the mission "just a Social call?" In that mission why didnt Micah just turn Dutch and Arthur into the Pinkertons when it was such a perfect opportunity? Its things like this that make you question if he truly even was the rat, Micah is a Character who you could analyze for hours, one dimensional evil Characters are basically just "muhahaha i wanna take over the world because im evil!" This is insulting to Micah's Character as an antagonist to say hes that simplistic This the problem with people's takes on modern day villains Being morally grey does not automatically make a well written or interesting Villain And being Pure Evil doesn't mean the Villain is "boring". Is the Joker a boring Villain because he's pure Evil by that logic? The Joker is a very complex Character and yet he's pure evil Micah steals the Scene nearly half the time he is on screen, also notice how RDR KZbinrs constantly post Micah content? Because Micah videos pull views for a reason, the fans hate him, but keep watching Micah related RDR videos which proves he's one of the greatest Rockstar characters

Honestly, probably the most realistic depiction of what the gang is. There was no delusion coming from Micah, no matter how much time we spend as Arthur going about the gang, at the end of the day, they truly are people that wronged anyone who wasn't a part of their gang, we feel bad for the bad things that happen to them, but that's because we get attached to them throughout the story. At the end of the day, they might as well be the equivalent of Odriscolls. I mean, how else did Dutch and such got a bounty that large? For what's worth, they are all truly bad people, despite some of them are trying to make a change, they are still killers, thieves, robbers etc. The only "redeeming" quality of the gangs evilness is Jack, who still becomes a fucking outlaw in the future, so yeah. It's truly the matter of perspective, if you are a ordinary folk, Dutch's gang might as well be evil personified if they ever come across your path and probably kill your family in cold blood because Dutch deemed it necessary.

I love how you changed the camera to make it look like a real RDR2 cutscene. Makes it really authentic

Occupational Hazard, not very accurate. During that time of history they didn't know those 2 words and especially what each word means.

People can talk all they want but guess what it was all Dutch the fact that he kept taking Micah side every single time proves what kind of idiotic leader he was. He had so many chances to change yet he was hell bent to make more and more trouble. A group can have 1000 members with different opinions but a leader needs to make a final call and Dutch always made a bad call despite of multiple people warning him, he ignored all and only listened to Micah.

On the one hand Micah is right. Running into law and losing gang members js part of the life but Hosea is also right to be upset about how badly it went. Local law or even state marshals are one thing but the Pinkertons were basically the FBI at this point in history.

Crazy how these two would later die in the game. You never know when it’s your time

Nope that's a delusional lie made by liars with 0 proof to back up. Micah sold out us after Guarma and that's the truth.

The more I see Micah’s alternative dialogue the more I see him a true outlaw compared to the gang members. Unlike the gang members that are just orphans that turned outlaws, Micah is the third generation of “pure blood” outlaws. Even tho we want the gang to succeed Micah was right that they wouldn’t last because they always stick together and put emotions in front of all when the outlaw life is pure survival and only animals like Micah, Colm and later, Dutch, can survive long in this trade

Hosea is wrong, Dutch is the one making the calls, mica only suggest suggest thonga as all the members in the crew.

And no Micah was just a poser, he was playing a part he thought was accurate to how gang members were. He might have had a few points but he is still a pinkertons lapdog

I don't understand how they are making cinematics with the game if it doesn't have recording mode like GTA V or GTA 4, but it's amazing

I’d love to hear Dutch’s reaction if he heard Micah talking to Hosea and Arthur the way he did. He might’ve gotten cut loose

Dutch’s gang were primarily running on an ideal when they started. When they picked up people like Micah (a realistic outlaw) and Strauss (loanshark), it just hastened what was going to be inevitable lest they change their ways.

Before the blackwater ferry job, Hosea already planned a score. But, Micah got Dutch excited about the blackwater business and everyone followed.

Then that's on Dutch, Micah is just doing his job scouting for a score
