Thanks for the video. It certainly helped me, for all of the points you mentioned; mindfulness, concentration, the biking community, the ease of access to new places and scenery. Something that helped almost as much is doing one's own maintenance, as much as one can. There's nothing like changing the oil, bleeding the brakes, cleaning the bike, lubing the chain to give oneself a feeling a having accomplished something.
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks so much that is great to know that it has helped you for all those points as well 👍 Absolutely the maintenance side of motorcycling is a huge benefit. I still sometimes find it a chore but once I have done the work I always feel better afterwards. Cheers

I recently lost my wife to cancer, and decided to purchase a Speedmaster for my own wellness. I know that while she didn't want me riding bikes while we were together, I think it was my leather-clad outlaw image that initially caught my eye. While I miss her very much, I know she'll be reminding the Lord to keep a weather eye on me whenever I ride. (In the two weeks since I got it, it has rained virtually every day.) I'll be taking it easy while I reaccustom myself to riding, but it will be a vital part of my CBT. That's Cruiser Bike Therapy, a vital part of my Wellness programme. You are the second Speedmaster VLOGGER to mention mental health benefits. The other guy is an American with the Two Wheeling Vet handle, and his message is similar to yours. When you think about it, getting out on a bike, being part of the environment, feeling the rush of air about you and being one with your environment is a great way to chill. Thank you for sharing, and it's comforting to know that many of us dealing with anxiety and depression are choosing two wheels as part of our wellness programs.

Hi I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Good for you for jumping back in the saddle, it has done me so much good and has been a great healer. I think you have made a great decision 👍 I hope the Speedmaster can do as much for you as it has for me! Enjoy your riding and take care. All the best.

Well said. Another great vid explaining the benefits of riding a motorbike and the dips and troughs many of us experience but are too ashamed or in denial to say anything. Being on my bike perks up my mood. I could be having a bad day and as soon as I'm on my bike it's a positive experience. Being bikers we are constantly learning to adapt to new situations. Personally if more people rode bikes the world would be a positive place. Sending positive vibes. Keep up with the good vids. A joy to watch

Hi Ellen, many thanks I really appreciate that 👍 I always find admitting and speaking out loud that you are struggling or have a problem helps one a lot. Very well said, riding a motorbike automatically turns your day into a positive experience, and that positivity stays with you even after you have gotten off the bike. 100% more people should ride bikes. Many thanks again and continue to enjoy your riding. All the best

Very good vid, Gus. As you know I very much feel the same. Even if you're not going _to_ somewhere, the ride itself feels good and is effortless mindful meditation. There something very special about riding, even if you take it easy like I do - especially if you take it easy, in my opinion. I think some feel a barrier to biking because they think it's all about thrill seeking, scaring yourself and getting the adrenaline pumping, but it really doesn't have to be at all, that's totally up to the rider. My riding, compared to driving, is certainly not like a personal rollercoaster! More like gently swinging on a swing in the park rather than driving being like sitting on the sofa in your lounge. It's maybe a little less convenient and comfortable, but it's much more pleasant and fun and it's getting you out there just a little bit - enough to enjoy the outdoors and not be thinking about what worries you.
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, really pleased you liked that one 👍 You are so right about that, it is such an effortless meditation. You don't even need to try it just automatically relaxes one. Love that, not all about the adrenaline 👌 Some of my best rides have been going slowly and just cruising and flowing with the road, like flying!! I think people need to know more about how relaxing and therapeutic motorcycling can be. Rather than the racy side of it! Thanks and all the best. Hope you are enjoying your riding.

"I do t believe it"...I was only at Longleat last Thursday having a tour around Longleat House and then onto the drive round the animal safari park...not on the bike .. ;-) Beautiful scenery and really nice video.. as you say getting on your bike takes all stresses away and I can relate to the social anxiety to the point of having panic attacks when I was younger "Every wakeful step, every mindful act is the direct path to awakening. Wherever you go, there you are" "The more fully we give our energy, the more it returns to us" The mind contains all possibilities! Cheers Angus!

It's such a raw experience. I feel like the bike is effectively an extension of my body. The closest I get to that in a car is my mid-'90s Toyota, and even then - it's night & day. I do get annoyed by excessive use of electronics (ride-by-wire is the bane of my existence 😒) on many new bikes. Inserting a computer between rider and machine takes away some of that raw feeling, which imho defeats the purpose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
