Definitely name plates. I would use a waxed pencil. I remember our teachers in school used to use those waxed pencils on the overhead projector. And they would wipe off so easily.

I have some plain white ceramic name plates similar to yours, I usually use them to set in front of dishes during buffet style gatherings to label the food, I just use dry-erase markers they work like a charm on mine since they have a glossy finish. Adorable intro by the way :)

This is exactly what I was going to say. I believe they are to name dishes at a buffet. Modern times allows for dry erase markers, but I'm not certain what would have been used back in the day.
@lorraineculp15042 жыл бұрын
Back in the day they probably used what's called a China marker or grease pen. They are still used to mark tile for cutting. Look around the tile tools in your local Lowe's.

Nice introduction. It was personal and set the mood. An alternative use for the compact - - my Mother kept stamps in a pretty compact like that. It always looked so lovely on her desk.

I agree a grease pencil would work well on your name plates! What a neat thing to receive. And I share your frustration with pillbox hats. I need a brim or a halo.

That is one of the things I absolutely love about vintage shopping - finding little treasures like the wedding cards. Just a snippet of someone unknown's life that you get to see. Such a sweet video, had a cozy time with a nice cup of tea.

Name plates. You can use Marker-but I have had better luck with a good chalk marker in a color. Dry erase also works.

Lovely box from Sarah! Love it every month too! I think they are name plates and I think Karen showed them twice in their request video’s in the beginning of this year. They showed the home items in the beginning of their videos. They are so lovely! You can buy marker pens that you can wipe off. They are whiteboard markers. Sharpies are permanent. Just a tip for the compact. There are make up company’s that have “refill tins” of product to place in your compact versus replacing the entire compact. Or melt your lipstick into it And cool so that you can carry with a lip brush!

you could write on the nameplates with sharpie, it can be removed with alcohol, I assume that before alcohol ink some waxy crayon could be used

Unboxing which I am always looking forward! I really liked the video at the beginning. So cute and cozy! Can't imagine how long it took you to mount this great opening video! And for the first time in my life I see nameplates. They are so beautiful! All items are so beautiful and unique! I love nameplates, beaded handbag, perfume bottle! Everything is very beautiful! I want to ask about postcards, what does the inscription "For your shower" mean? Did they present something for the shower?
@TheGlambassador2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, I'm so glad you enjoyed my video, and you are correct in thinking that the opening montage took quite some time to film and edit. But I had a vision and I need to make it come alive :) As for the "shower" question, it's customary here in US to have a "shower" or party before a wedding or the birth of a child. It's typically done with just the bride-to-be or mother-to-be and the female family members and friends, but I'm sure it's becoming more common for the husband/father to be involved as well. Essentially it's a party prior to the event that is simply for giving gifts to the future couple or parents. For a bridal shower, it's usually items for the home such as small kitchen appliances, cookware, glassware, linens, small home decor items and money. It comes from the notion that most people got married pretty young and didn't have the necessary items to make their house a home or they didn't have the monetary means quite yet to buy these things. The $5.00 and $100.00 notations in the cards so the bride can thank the person later and refer back to what their gift was.

@@TheGlambassador OMG! It is so interesting! Thank you so much Christine for your answer! I didn't know about it at all but I heard the expression "baby shower")) but still couldn't understand why it is a shower)) Now I see. Thank you! But why does the bride need to refer back to what their gift was?
@TheGlambassador2 жыл бұрын
@@Yana.Polyanichko the term “shower” refers to people showering the bride or new mother with gifts. Usually they would write personalized thank you cards saying something like “Aunt Suzy, thank you so much for the toaster.” So they’d write the gift or dollar amount on the card so they remembered who gave them what.
