Redbreast 12yr Old review #7 with The Whiskey Novice 1

Can't believe I'm the first to comment! I do like Redbreast. I've tried the 12, the 12 CS, the Lastau and the 25. The cask strength is my favourite.

Another favorite.. Just bought a bottle for New Year’s Eve. Was lucky enough to get the last bottle on the shelf.. Ohio isn’t known for keeping many decent whiskies on the shelf, the get bought up very quickly.. Again enjoyed the review, Irish whiskey is my go too redbreast is a great tasting one. 👍🏻

I've only been through this regular 12 and the Lustau. I suffered though that bottle of Lustau, disliking every measure. It never got better. This regular 12 isn't bad, but it's not memorable to me in any way, just like every other Irish I've ever had, excluding Yellow Spot which I can't get enough of. I'm pretty sure I'm in a huge minority with this opinion of Irish whisky.

You'd be surprised Blair. Yellow Spot is a beautiful whiskey but, just too expensive for what it is now. Powers John's Lane (their 12yr old) does it for me. It brings everything that Yellow Spot does but at a decent price. Cheers.
