For taisuke he is my favourite bboy but I know he is not championship material. Hong 10 and issei are at different level. Hong 10's move is much cleaner and solid, while Issei's is just smooth and soft without explosive force and pause. Even issei's last set is not a very impressive move from "high-level power move" perspective. Plus, this event was held in Japan, so the audience was more hype with issei. Tl:dr : hong 10 should've taken it in overall perspective.

FOR PEOPLE WHO SAY HONG 10 GOT ROBBED: At first I thought so too, since Hong 10 had WAY more complexity, flow, footwork, moves But watching it again, bias aside, Issei definetly took it. Hong 10 had a few beat kills, but Issei absolutely demolished the music since almost every freeze he did hit the beat. And most importantly, Hong 10 got sloppier and sloppier as the battle progressed, but Issei got stronger and stronger. His last round was probably the best round he did throughout the entire competition. Hong 10 had 4+ mistakes, and two of them were MAJOR (missing his shirt and crashing the headspin drill) and issei had ZERO; one if you count a minor foot scuff. Issei also responded to Hong 10's swipe variation Keeping all of this in mind, we can decide that Issei won the majority of the several+ bboy categories: Execution: Issei Musicality: Issei Dynamics/Power/Blow ups: Issei Energy: Issei (that last round :O) Footwork/Flow: Hong 10 Creativity: Hong 10 Battle/Response: Issei Issei took it fair.

Even if he did only footwork on his first 4 rounds, his last round was convincing enough to be dynamically superior to hong 10. (P.S. you probably dint notice issei killed the beat with that elbow freeze in the 2nd round)

ISSEI WON. First of all, I'm b-boy Megane from Shangri-la crew in Japan. I've been Bboying for 14 years, so I'm not just a person who knows nothing about breakdance. Anyway, There are some solid reasons why I believe Issei took the battle. First, here is MY analysis to define the reasons why Hong 10 lost and Issei won. 1st round: Issei won. (As Issei pointed out and one of the commentators say, Hong 10 repeated his moves, and frankly, Issei was better anyway.) 2nd round: Tie 3rd round: Hong 10 won. (Hong 10 was much better in every way.) 4th round: Hong 10 won. (These 3rd round and 4th round must confuse people because Hong 10's moves are longer and he goes later, so you have to look every round very closely.) 5th round: Issei won. (Hong 10 crashed. Issei's set was better.) Second, this is something people who was there or who was watching live TV can only tell. (※I was sitting in the first row of block-B) ISSEI WENT FIRST even though he just finished semifinal against Victor. Of course, there was a break between the semifinal and the final. However, that was only 15 minutes (glass-hopper's show and some wait) at the longest. Bboys should know that's not enough to go 5 more rounds on the Redbull BC ONE. I also know that it must have been Hong 10's strategy and that Issei has been bboying enough to know it, but he went first anyway. I think Judges must have given some points for his courage and strong heart. (btw, Hong 10 never went first.) At last, the last round is the most important round, but at the same time, the last round is the most difficult and tiring round not having much energy. On the last round, Issei did amazingly powerful move. It's VERY VERY VERY hard to do that kinda move when you are exhausted. Judges might have given some points for that too. What it all comes down to is that it seems like tie game or some people might say Hong 10 won, but I believe Issei definitely took the battle.

Almost everyone that has won a title has been in their mid to late 20's. But because Bboying has evolved so fast guys like Issei(2016)and Shigekix(2020) have won their titles before being 21. But, participating wise, Issei first participated at 15-16 years old in 2012. Shigekix was about the same age in 2017 and went to the semi finals. Just recently Issin, another Japanese bboy, participated and went to the semis at 17 years old

There have been 14 unique BC One champions. 10 of them won their first title either as teenagers or in their early 20's. 2 of the remaining 4 unique champions won their first title at 25, and the last 2 won at 28 and 29. In terms of straight physical ability, top-tier breakers tend to peak in their early 20's, have to start adapting to their age during their mid-to-late 20's, and fall off once they enter their 30's. Hong 10 is an anomaly; he's 38 now and still a top contender/improving. He just won the Korean national championships.
