The Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship’s first stop launches from the dirt gold and amidst the mighty Redwoods of Skyline Rotorua Gravity Park. New Zealand’s grand master of the discipline, Kelly McGarry, and his building partner, Tom Hey, designed and built one of the best slopestyle courses in the world before McGarry passed away in 2016. The event was renamed in his honour. Long live the legendary McGazza. ❤️
The Rotorua event is a special one for many reasons. Like every Crankworx Slopestyle, it is the marquee event of the festival, bringing together the elite of the discipline eager to prove themselves and start their season off with a bang. With Brett Rheeder taking a year out to focus on other projects, the top spot is wide open!

Rodatkin is an absolute hero of the sport, not only can he look at anything and think "I can get at least 2 rotations from that" but his attitude toward the crowd and the other riders is second to none, its a pleasure to just see him so psyched about everything!

Love Nicholi's go for broke approach, always riding for the crowd and not the points, has the most fun doing his thing. Glad Reeder took some time off, hopefully he can learn some stress management skills. While his approach to competition served him well when he won, it just wrecked him when he didn't. You'd have to take that up with the man they all ride in memory of and I'm pretty sure Kelly knew what he was doing. Pedal grabs coming mostly from those losing speed between their tricks or needing speed to pull off a trick that isn't usually performed on that part of the course. Most riders got through their runs with little or none. Which one of the slopestyle course on tour did you design and build? Yeah, another expert opinion coming from someone on a couch behind a computer.

2 or 3 riders i this contest are passed in Italy in the last 2 weeks before than rotorua so they should be banned as the Italians! So why just our healthy riders was banned?
