Gigi Galli was unhinged. Meanwhike, Tanak seemed remarkably composed, not "mad" at all, just devastated, but composed. And drivers getting pissed at co-drivers for an eventual mistake, misteading a note, would be like co-drivers getting pissed at drivers for making a mistake and crashing, right? Same thing, isn't it? Someone making a mistake that interferes in the normal outcome of a race. Problem is, drivers feel they are "more important" than co-drivers, and they have an ego to tame. Loeb, who was always kind, and understanding with Elena, never lost his temper with him whenever he misread pace notes. Then again Loeb is a true gentleman.

I was watching this and couldn’t believe it happened literary 300 yards/ 900 metres from the finish. There is a great video of the police stopping Makkinen driving to service and Makkinen pleading with him. The rules were actually changed after this to stop anyone continuing in an unroadworthy car, as on the continent he would have been given a police escort to get to service which meant it was not fair at some rallies to be out and others to able to get to service. It wouldn’t have and didn’t change the result of the championship here but had Sainz finished it would have.
