OMG!!!! I loved seeing this bcuz I lived at the "foot" of Queen Hill when I was growing up out there in Jamaica back in the 70s and 80s. Back then you could count on one hand the number of houses up there. Now it's crazy how developed it is, looks nothing like those times!!! At that time the homes up there stood out bcuz there weren't many. Red Hills Road looks so different. I can see myself back then riding on the JOS bus going down Red Hills Rd., the always packed #37 A bus; if it came to your bus stop packed it'd just drive by and you'd have to wait for the next one that sometimes wouldn't come by for maybe another 30 to 60 minutes!!! They didn't have a lot of buses on that route back then. Memories, memories!!! 😊😊😊😊👍🚦🚌🏡
@RedButtonJournal8 ай бұрын
So lovely to hear from you about your reminiscent memories! Sounds like you truly know the wonders of growth in Queen Hill over the decades, ah the charm of 70s and 80s Jamaica must have been something special. And those JOS bus memories, sounds like an adventure. Jamaica's development has indeed been quite an exciting journey and, through our videos, we aim to bridge those nostalgic memories with modern times. Much changed, yet much still the same - that's Jamaica for you. Thanks a ton for sharing this moment with us. Bless up yourself and keep those wonderful memories alive!

I wonder how much these modern apartments go for a month 🤔 if it's more expensive than Jamaica
@RedButtonJournal8 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for your comment. The pricing of modern apartments can greatly vary depending on numerous factors such as location, amenities, among others. If you're renting in the heart of the city, it might be more expensive than in the Jamaica countryside. However, some might be comparable too. Big up for your curiosity.

Gorgeous homes and views, but the roads in such a lovely area are ridiculous! People need to complain to the government, unless they are private roads that the residents are responsible for. Those roads will tear up your cars.
@RedButtonJournal8 ай бұрын
We appreciate your viewpoint and we quite agree. The roads can definitely use some love to match the beauty of the houses and views. We hope that both the government and residents will take notice and take suitable action for smoother rides. 🚙 Your concern is a testament to the caring nature of our viewers. Big up yourself!

The MP for the area doesn’t care because she doesn’t live there so she doesn’t have to use the roads. Also enough white elites don’t live in the community for them to care.

Can the home owners pool some resources together and fix the roads? The government is not going to do it.
@RedButtonJournal8 ай бұрын
We appreciate your suggestion, and we agree, good infrastructure is essential for maintaining the elegance and beauty of Queen Hill. The owners surely treasure their neighborhood and hopefully, they might consider this idea. Also, remember we just spotlight these beautiful areas, but actively getting involved in their development isn't within our purview. Bless up yourself for being concerned and engaged.

As usual the roads are just horrible. Jamaican govt. is just a sad failure.

Unless people pay their taxes there's no funds to maintain the estate roads. Maybe they're private roads too.
@RedButtonJournal8 ай бұрын
We truly appreciate your comments and hope you could still enjoy the beautiful homes we showcased. Bless up yourself!
@rohdoug7 ай бұрын
These roads are private. I am not sure who should look after them. The roads on the hills are damaged by the rain water running down the mountains. The construction workers don’t help either. Look how they mix the mortar in the streets. People making those big houses should be able to hire mixing equipments.

Red Hills Road starts at Eastwood Park intersection and ends at the foot of the hill. So not sure where you are calling Red Hills Road.

If an earthquake like the one of 1692 hits Jamaica how many of those hillside homes are going to come crashing down.
@RedButtonJournal8 ай бұрын
We totally understand the concern, and it's indeed important to consider. However, modern buildings, including these splendid homes, are designed keeping the seismic safety in mind, following strict building codes to withstand such calamities. Still, there's no 100% guarantee, as nature sometimes proves to be unpredictable. Stay tuned for our videos as we unpack more about Jamaican architecture. Big up for your thoughtful question!
