@@ea635 I'll be the first one to say that Snake is no doubt campy, but that in fact he is so campy that his character, especially compared to say every other character, loops back around and can actually become a real unique person with deep character. No matter how much Hideo boi tries to characterize every single character around him, he is still simply the most tightly designed and acted one. I'd say maybe in MGS 5 that has changed and generally the writing and acting of everyone is like way improved. But still, even the dude from 24 does an amazing job and is a fantastic fit for his role. I don't agree with the violently opposed fan reaction, since David was working with what he had and wasn't meant for a role like that.

I think the word "defends" is in the title to rake in the views... People seem to flock to drama. Anyway, The End was my favourite Boss Fight. It was intense and made you utilise everything the game had taught you, up to that point. Snake Eater is also my favourite MGS title, so to hear David Hayter's on the same page, it's music to my ears.

Objectively? That's debatable. Original MGS is my favorite because it had the best cast of characters and the best soundtrack. MGS3 does have a more interesting message to its story albeit wrapped up in a more over the top James Bondish package (just as MGS2 has a more interesting message to its story wrapped up in a mind bending anime package). However, its gameplay is not as good as that of MGS5. It's definitely more clunky than MGS5 at this point, and ironically, the original MGS doesn't have that problem since its gameplay is simpler.

@@megavolt67 Okay, here are my arguments. - MGS3 has better enemy variety than both 1 and 2. - Doesn't abuse cutscenes until the very end of the game (unlike MGS4) - The MGS3 gameplay is the bedrock of MGSV gameplay. It's clunkier, yes, but it's made that way for the player to master it and feel free without going Rambo around. - Unlike MGS1 and 2, Snake's health matters beyond gunfights. - It has a lot of Metroidvania/RPG elements for being a linear game. - It's a prequel that puts us in the shoes of the original villain. I said it was better than the others because it has a bit of everything which made the others great, without the cons.

Man I loved MGS3 and still do to this day. It's my personal favorite in the series. Sure it had a different feel to it than the first two MGS games, but it worked so well. The gameplay mechanics, the story and plot, the characters, everything. I had the honor of meeting David Hayter 11 years ago at Anime Expo, and it's an experience I'll never forget. He was such an awesome dude and a gentleman. He portrayed both Solid and Naked Snake splendidly. I hope to run into him again in the future.

MGS3 was awesome. The final battle with Big Boss was amazing. The battle in the field of flowers showed two things 1)great programming by Hideo and his team. 2)if the programmers were skilled enough, there was very little difference in power between the PlayStation 2 and the XBox.

Snake Eater also my favourite. Reasons it stands out and yes, it is a different flavour: - the boss battles are extremely personal and each boss has a personal history and background. Eg: the Pain and his story of bees/wasps, the End and his sniper speciality and how he even wishes to be defeated secretly by Snake, the Fear and the Brazilian Wandering Spiders, and the references to David Bowie with The Fury. - There is so much respect and intimacy from Snake and his radio team. Likewise, this entire game you could argue is a giant love story between him and the Boss - Who can forget the cutscene with soldier Johnny? The point being there was so much emotion and depth into it. I love all the MGS games as well! Snake Eater was a masterpiece.

Mgs3 is my favorite game of all time it always has been since I was a kid in 2004 I remember getting the game with my dad at Target and then going to Blockbuster for the strategy guide. Each has its own feel to eat. MGS3 Naked Snake is so young energetic yet old enough in his 30s to be a solid confident dude who doesn’t doin t himself and impresses others, only a child like The Boss says it. The moment that best describes snake in metal gear solid three is that moment in the virtuous mission where he sees the beehive and gives that stupid ass grin. It shows exactly what hayters says about snake being a bit more carefree and young at the start of the game

Metal gear solid 3 is among the highest praised in that franchise, maybe even more popular than mgs2 since some people were split about raiden taking up a lot of screentime but personally i like raiden, especially after mgrr.

Damn, MGS1 is my favorite. Best and most iconic characters, best villains, best voice acting execution, best story, best atmosphere in the snowy and epic Shadow Moses, best MUSIC, best EVERYTHING! It’s perfectly executed. I definitely love MGS 3 but to me MGS1 was the peak of Metal Gear at its storytelling and atmospheric finest! Sure the gameplay is dated as hell but everything else makes up for it!
