Redcat Ascent Upgrades and Tuning

I did some tuning and small upgrades to the Redcat Ascent. I think this should make it perform even better than it did out of the box.

2200 3s are becoming my go to for right now. The ones I found are the same size as 1500

Those post are to aid in mounting a half cab option like the belly dragger comp rigs which is kinda what the Ascent is based on. A 2200mah 3s 75mm long will mount without cutting but good video man

It’s nice just to sit & work on the RC’s. 8 just got mine I was wondering what those taps where because I wanted to cut them to fit my battery betters eventually I’ll get one for the front but if you get a winch it won’t be able to go there. Also watch out for the driveshaft screws inside the housings inside mine fell out & the driveshaft fell out but lucky I wound it I was not happy but it’s just a flathead screw so I but in another & used lock tight & back off & running. I just got mine spent hrs upgrading & adjusting so my first time out it was already updated with Fusion SE J Concepts Rapture tires. I heard the axles for the Gen 8 from Treal will work but they won’t because the new axles are one piece. The diff covers fit. Also getting the front shocks off is a real pain a can’t believe they had the lower shock screw under the front knuckle so you have to remove it I can’t understand why they would have it there.

The same thing happened to me. I was able to licorice the screw and put the axle together. I also hate the front shock mount too. I wish I got it on video but don’t loose the little hat bushings for the knuckle

Hey man I like the video. But I’m curious are you on the the 8th or 9th floor of a building? Cause it looks like you’re over looking a 5 or 6 story building across the way..

I’m a bit higher than that but yes I live in a tall building. I’m only about halfway up tho

That internal springs looks way too strong. Having tried pen springs and such I think limit straps are a better solution to pull the body to the axle. Did you see RC review putting Losi mini t springs on them?

Leave the rear springs out of the shocks, truck works better!

You talking about the mane spring on our side of shock I was thinking just taking the big spring of and leaving small one on the inside and see how it runs and sits
