Mi rampage is about 10 years old fires up n runs good still today. But my chassis is flat. Like a buggie. I actually have 2 of them. They mi go to fun

I RECOMEND..TO YOU..IF THE TRUCK WONT START..FIRST CHECK THE GAS CAP IF THE MEMBRANE INSIDE OF THE CAP IS BROKE..TAKE IT OFF. MAKE A TINNY HOLE ON THE GAS CAP AS A BREATHER INSTEAD OF THE MEMBRANE CUT A ROUND PIECE OF A ESPONGE AND PUT IT INSIDE THE CUP WHERE THE MEMBRANE WAS..AND PLACE THE GAS CUP ON THE TANK THIS WAY ALWAYS HAVE GASOLINE FLOW TO CARBURATOR AND AVOIDING HARD TIME TO START THE TRUCK AND PLAY FOR ALL THE TIME YOU WANT...NEXT STEP ..UPGRADE GAS LINES FOR THE SILICONE GAS LINES. CUZ.THE STOCK GAS PLASTIC GAS LINES ON RAMPAGE CRACK AND LEAK BECAUSE THE HEAT OF THE ENGINEUPGRADE THE GAS LINES FOR THE SILICONE LINES TUBES AND TRY TO HOLDING AWAY THE ANY HOT SURFACE LIKE THE ENGINE OR THE EXAHUST ...THIRD STEP..UPGRADE THE SPARK PLUGS. Thanks, you aren't the first to suggest that. So far so good. We haven't had any more issues after replacing the spark plug. Will keep in mind though.

@@BMPowered YEA..YOU HAVE TO CUT THE STOPPERS ON THE CHASIS UNDERNEAT EACH ARM AND UPGRADE THE SHOCKS FOR THE MT ONES THEY ARE LARGER THAN THE STOCK SHOCKS AND TUNNING THE CAMBER ON EACH WHEELLS

I was just about to post the same concerning the LSN. Keep in mind @bmpowered that if your tank is low on fuel, you can actually suck air into the carb and have a false lean condition due to low fuel. Happends all the time on my X2. I'm not saying you need to tune with a full tank but just make sure the fuel filter/clunk is fully submerged before tuning. If you start experiencing a lean condition, it's good practice to check your fuel level first, it can save you time a frustration.

Drill a 1/16th hole in the gas cap this will releave vapor lock ' Vaporlock happens when the fuel tank gets low and causes a air vacum lock in the gas tank and the fuel will not flow into the carb hencs the name vapor lock check out steelcity RC 's youtube page for the fix. good luck and good bashing man.

Thanks for the help. We will do that when we go to run it again.. We also found the fuel filter was nasty and replaced it in the tank, and a new gapped spark plug along with a new carb. The XT isn't our favorite but its still fun.

For future reference, this is how a no start situation should be handled: Step one: Make sure your killswitch didn't trigger if you have one installed, and you SHOULD! Step two: Remove the spark plug and check for spark. If no spark, swap the plug for a new one. If still no spark, the issue is with the ignition system. If you did have spark initially with the old plug but still can't get the engine to start, try a new plug just like you guys did in the video. Sometimes, even though the old plug produces a spark, it may not be strong enough. Step three: If steps one and two are performed and still no start, now it's time to check the fuel delivery system. Carb, lines, etc for leaks or proper operation. Doing things in this order can save you time and money! I can't tell you how many times people overlooked their killswitch and threw money/parts at their RC only to realize later it was the killswitch killing the ignition system all along because the killswitch either went bad or they never reset their assigned button on the radio!

That exhaust was not made for the XT. It was made for another Red Cat 5th scale and I think it was for their Rally Car. I had bought the exhaust pipe from a local hobby shop and it was on clearance. I don't have the packaging to give you the model. When I put this exhaust on the truck, it needed to be modified. I heated it with a mapp gas torch and bent it out some to make it fit. It was difficult as I was afraid of breaking the pipe at the bend. It ended up melting some of the plastic cage, so we used heat shield tape over the plastic parts close to the pipe. Sorry I can't help you more with it.

You are experiencing vapor lock in the fuel system all you need to do is look on youtube for steel city RC for the fix it is easy all that is needed is to drill out a vent hole in the gas cap about 1/16th in dia.

Hi guys I have the same recat rampage 30cc I actually have 2 of them. The first one I have actually floods easily for some reason. But my question is the other redcat I own needs the brake and throttle adjusted and I sure do need help with that. When I press the brake it on remote it kills the engine if I lower idle or when I tune the idle and press the brake and let go it throttle up for 2 second which send the car flying then slows down. How can I stop my truck from doing that?

Not sure if we will have time for a tutorial as it's close to holidays here. As with the throttle issue. I had the same thing with my HPI 5B. I had to reset the throttle servo end points. I also made sure the screw on the carb that attaches throttle is tight and not loose. we did have to put a new carb on our red cat as it was a pain. we do not like it that much.

That just doesn't make sense, lol. Maybe it has a issue with the plug wire? Shouldn't make a difference if it's on the ground or not.

Is there a difference in a racing clutch and a regular clutch, the one I have don't slip at idle
