I just recently loaded my game save for the first time in over a year and began playing in a normal manner including riding out to New Austin and stumbling upon the Del Lobos in many different places and killing them all, from the ones who accosted me between the waterfall and Armadillo, the ones in the house with the fenced in yard right outside of Armadillo, to the ones in Armadillo at the jail, to those who tried to rampage through Armadillo whom I also killed right by the jail and the buildings adjacent to it before they got to any populated part of town, to those at the hideout near Benedict Point, whose bodies I piled up and burned with the total having been somewhere between 10 and 20, to those I discovered at Fort Mercer to those I came across while passing through Thieves' Landing whose bodies I dumped into the water. Between Armadillo and the hideout near the western edge of the map, I took a stroll around Tumbleweed and witnessed that scripted event with the sheriff and yet another Del Lobo and after being addressed by the sheriff subsequent to his execution of that Del Lobo, I followed him into the building and executed him and then killed the lawmen who responded to that assassination by chasing and firing upon me. Shortly after reaching the plains, or possibly after I went and left food at the doorstep of Dutch's shipdit idol, I was greeted by a victim of the Skinner Brothers shot up with arrows on horseback besides coming upon a group of them on my way to Miller's cabin and killing them. Hopefully things will continue to be generated that will keep the game playable. I am now wondering how long I'm going to have to bring food to Evelyn Miller as if to a dog whose owners are on vacation.

If you run at someone and press R2 (shoot button) when you're near them, instead of tackling them like you would if you presses the melee button, you'll shoulder barge them to the ground. I don't think the game tells you this and it took me ages to realise.
