What I really loved about this tutorial is that you made it all so simple, not complicated. You are a natural teacher! So often other teachers are too "you-will-never-be-as-good-as-me" but you!.... You made me feel like I was there with you enjoying the experience and feeling like this was really something I could do too with confidence and contentment! Thank you SO much for sharing this with us.... best wishes from a fan in Ireland

Love your craft, thank you for sharing. One question please, if the soap had been coloured with mica will the colour come through the wool, that is, if the soap has browns, greens ... do colours, should the wool colour chosen be dark base?

If you collect all the small soaps that have been used, do you do something with the little felt bits left ?
@Hilary_ClarbySoaps5 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial. What type of soap is best to use? If you make your own soap do you make a hard bar, do some oils go mushy, and shroud you let it cure fully before felting? I’d love to try this but want to make the right ‘type’ of soap for it 😀

Wow i love this! Do you sell them? Can you do a video doing the patterns on the soap?
@sarasetzer75535 жыл бұрын
I do! I sell them on my website at www.sarasetzerfeltworks.com. I have more videos in the works, I'll see what I can come up with :)

Can I do this with my 1sts or 2nds that have not gone to the mill?
@sarasetzer75532 жыл бұрын
Hi Annette! I think you could depending on the fiber of course. It might take a little more time to lay it out but it should work for you!

If we don't have nylons can we just use a regular sock?
@sarasetzer25626 жыл бұрын
Hi! You could try, I think it would work! It might be a little thick and take a little longer when your rubbing it, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work! You can also use tulle if you have that available, too.
@lizdyson36275 жыл бұрын
Why do you use nylons and can you use cling wrap instead?
@sarasetzer75535 жыл бұрын
I use nylons because they are reusable and I like how they hold the soap and wool together tightly in the beginning. You can also use tulle. I have never tried cling wrap, I would imagine i would be difficult and sticky, probably more hassle than it's worth.

Also where do you buy the felt from?
@sarasetzer75535 жыл бұрын
Try Outback Fibers or NunoFelting.com, both great sources!

Seems too labor intensive to be cost effective if you are in the business of selling the soap. What do they sell for?
@karinvaleri71302 жыл бұрын
I've seen them for 8 to 15. Cdn. Depending if it had a needle felted design.

I'm from Canada and it's $8 without felt and $18 with felt
