We shouldn’t judge one-sidedly, he story is told only from the husband’s perspective, but Emily might have reasons or feelings that we don’t know. A broken relationship is never solely one person’s fault, and her regret and effort to better herself show that she still wants to become a better person.

If he wanted her to sit with ambiguity, he would have left without leaving a letter. People who communicate anything to treasonous people have allowed their enemies some control. Ghost without a word, a note, etc. is always best. Never tip your hand.

Leave no evidence, no reason, to make traitors worry. That was a wise move.

Agreed. Totally.

Nahhhh for ambiguity…she will invent in her mind that she was the victim and tell all her friends and family the same…😊you have no defense because as usual you just planned and planned and just ran scared. Your letter should have at least mentioned JAKE as being the last straw..but then she didn’t care about you anyway so you just gave her a free pass and you will be free to make the same mistakes in your next relationship

He should've changed his phone number too. And cut off all means of communication.....even blocking her email address.

Lesson for not knowing your partner for life. Alcoholic partner is a gamble that failure may happen. Alcohol is the result of family separation.

Choosing the right partner will lead to a happy married life, otherwise it will be like hell.

Anyone else find the tidbit about the cheating wife somehow leaving her phone (which, as described in the narrative as being so tightly secured that she may, in-fact, keister the damn thing when she was around OP) on the counter when she left the house completely, positively, one hundred percent bull shi#?? Completely unrealistic.

David seems obsessed with controlling the narrative. Is his 'closure' really about Emily, or about himself?

David's revenge was cold and calculated. Is he any better than Emily?

Do you (the writer) know what "palpable" really means? It gets used a lot in these (most) fictional stories. It's overly used when there other ways to emphasize a phrase of feelings.
@CSR11186 күн бұрын
"palpable": used to describe a strong emotion and emphasize that emotion, right? Thank you I will try to bring more realistic descriptions!

Was David right to expose Emily's affair to her friends and family, or did he go too far?
@ESNchris6 күн бұрын
Yes he was. When you've act shamefully you deserve tge shame. If you don't want to be shamed don't do anything shameful

So he left her, moved on, and did what he had to do. He was 100% justified and handled it as he saw fit. But then then ran into her much later, and felt he had to "share the truth" with everyone in her life? His decision to reopen the wounds was the sign of a man with serious psychological issues. Regardless of what he told himself, he did this to ruin her life as best he could and for petty vengeance, pure and simple. I would warn any future partner of his that he may very well have an antisocial personality disorder.

Hatred nurtured over time becomes a disease, perhaps he loved her so much that all of his love turned to hatred!
@richardcox44135 күн бұрын
@CSR1118 Indeed. "Hatred is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die."
@charlesmerchant47623 күн бұрын
Do you really think it took Hatred to expose her? Credit Card agencies use your past accounts to gage your ability to hold a tab. I often wondered why MEN wanted to keep whorish women's secrets so bad.....and its astounding. Women come on television daily exposing the married men (years later) that they sleep with. ....but no words from your kind. There's only one conclusion here....
