In the movie, The Silence of the Lambs, a serial killer that liked to steal and wear his victim's skin kept his victims in a well that was inside his house. He'd open the well, and drop a basket of lotion down to them saying "It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again", implying that he hoses down people at the bottom of the well where they are trapped. This is to make sure their skin is in the best condition for him to wear later.
