I've been watching and rooting for T1 since 2016. From my experience of watching them throughout the years, they often struggle in summer split almost every year. Some weak-hearted fans become toxic and blame the team, while the haters are out in full force to make fun of the team. Except for the time when they didn't make worlds, they always finished top 4 at worlds despite their shaky performance before worlds. I don't think they will do terribly enough and not qualify for wolrds this year. GenG DK HLE T1 should be the LCK representative bearing any major upset. I don't think KT and KDF can beat any of the 4 teams in a best of 5.

The problem is that this narrative gets pushed too far and then you have armies of T1 fans saying things along the lines of: 'T1 are the best team in the world even though they are not even top 3 in lck rn', 'T1 is loosing on purpose because they don't care about lck', 'T1 is wintrading and that's the only reason they are lossing' and so on. Just take a look at the comment section of any vod where they loose. At some point you can't resist the urge to tell the to shut up.

T1 will probably play in the Regional Finals because GEN.G and HLE are the likely frontrunners for automatic Worlds qualification. If their form doesn't improve and the meta doesn't suit them, they could be in big trouble.

In general, the views are lower than if T1 is in the tournament, but it doesn't affect the quality of the tournament. The viewer counts only mattered to Riot, as they needed more views to get more money from sponsors.

Let's look at numbers : recently they won the EWC, even if people don't like this tournament they won against china's top dog at that moment. Previously they went 3rd in MSI, wich is a good placement let's not forget all the other teams that couldn't qualify or did terrible. Last Worlds, well they won, completly crushed LPL without breaking a sweat.. They went 3rd during last year's MSI, and 2nd at Worlds.. 2nd in almost every LCK split (we can't count summer because Faker wasn't playing). So what's your point ? This team that has the best ratio of domestic and international rankings is done ? So what are others team current state ? Let's not forget that people always support Gen G even if they didn't go far during international events, let's also not forget that this meta is rough for T1's playstyle : Zeus can't use his best picks, Faker is forced off mages.. People need to wait, the meta will change and teams will change as well. Every team can have their downs, people always doubted GenG during internationals but now they proved that they can achieve it.
