@@monochromebunni3887 it pisses me off i keep thinking about it i really think she should go to prison. god i am so mad. like leaving a known allergen on a child. then giving her SLEEPING MEDS and LEAVING HER ALONE. like why would the parents lie about her being allergic to coconut oil. i remember one time i went to summer camp and one of the campers in another group was allergic to coconut so we all had our coconut products confiscated, even though chances are we wouldnt ever interact with the kid. as a kid i was mad but now i am really glad they went to such lengths to keep them safe. like coconut is a hassle cause its in a LOT of things but its better to have a safe kid and everyone else stuck with dry skin and hair and chapped lips than a dead one.

The story goes, OP's dad from the moment he realized what his wife had done could not even look at her again. He left her (good, fuck that woman) and she now lives alone. According to OP, she still calls once or twice a year to give the same old sorry story and asks if she can come see her. And OP allegedly has always said "You can come visit me when you bring my daughter with you". Absolutely despicable and I hope there is *some* penance in the form of the grandmother living out her remaining years alone with her regrets.

To be honest, I am not buying his story at all. People who announce they will kill themselves rarely do, as they know they will only face attempts to talk them out of it. Those attempts are exactly what people in a bad place looking for attention are looking for. If you count down the days publicly, you are clearly looking for attention. It is also very easy to just abandon your account to make it seem like you actually did it - and to use a second account to watch the response of others. While I do believe someone doing this must have some sort of mental issues that probably DO make it hard to lead a happy and fulfilling life, I would definitely try not to hurt too much over the story he told, as it was most likely a fabrication. (And if it wasn't, there's no harm in believing it was, as it won't affect him anymore and will only help emphatic people like you to feel less bad over something you can't do anything about anyway. It may sound harsh, but I mean all of this in the most positive way.)

As helpful as the suicide hotline may be to some, it is not always the best. As someone who called at a very dark time, I was put on hold for over 40 minutes before deciding to hang up. By that time I had already calmed down a bit but to know that if I was calling in my last minutes. no one would have picked up. This most likely would have pushed anyone over the edge. Know that people are there for you, even if it may not feel like it. You are loved and cherished no matter what you have done or what you have gone through. Pick your head up because eventually, even if it is not soon, it will get better.

The coconut allergy is insane. Reminds me of my ex MIL. She would NEVER take anything I said seriously and would constantly give my daughter things I asked her not to and do things I asked her not to with my daughter when she was a newborn such as, feeding her just water in between formula bottles because she said she needed to stay hydrated. I told her newborns do not need to drink just straight water. You don’t see newborn kittens, calves, puppies etc etc drinking water when they’re first born. They aren’t meant to and her pediatrician told me she needed to stop. She would not listen and finally my husband at the time (he has since passed away) had to flip absolute shit on her and tell her if she’s not going to follow our rules with our daughter she will never be with her alone again and she finally developed a little respect for me as her mother.

The inbreeding subreddit... it hit close to home. My best friend in high school k1lled herself because she couldn't process what the hell was going on in her family. Her mother passed away when she was a baby. Her older sister (16 that time, considered minor in our country) and father started dating. My best friend caught them in the act several times. She tried to tell other relatives but nobody believed her. I also helped her get in touch with authorities but this only angered her father. For the next few months, she was often antagonized by her sister and her father started punishing her often, grounding her for the smallest reasons, and eventually she stopped coming to school. Then one day, we found out, she took her own life. EDIT: Someone in the comments suggested that my best friend's sister was being r@ped and not actually "dating" her father, and I think that's very possible too. My best friend perhaps assumed they were dating because of what she saw. But either way, the fact that the sister is a minor already qualifies this as statutory r@pe.

The heroin one really hit hard. He really isn't exaggerating when he said it can fuck up your life under 2 weeks. My college roommate and I were at a party one night and they were offering us some stuff. I turned it down and agreed to be the driver while he was (what I thought was smoking weed or something) was actually shooting up heroin. Anyway, dude was kinda rowdy the rest of the night but seemed like his regular self. The next morning, he's not in his room. Comes back a few hours later with some 'groceries'. that's where it all began. he decided to buy more for a special occasion, ended up using it to try and ace an exam, totally flunked and got kicked out for being aggressive towards the professor. lost contact, found him 6 years later while i was visiting a friend in prison. guy was on domestic violence charges and possessing drugs. i don't blame myself, cuz i know deep down he knew what he was getting into. but if I could turn back, I'd have never encouraged him to go to that party.

I just hope he and anybody out there who's struggling with addiction are able to find help before it's too late.

@@bryannanga2239 That's really awesome, I'm really happy to hear that. I just turned 28 last month, and I'd been suicidal since about 12 or 13. Didn't know what the hell to do with myself when I hit 18 because I didn't expect to be there. Same with 21. Same with nearly every year after. Only in the past few years have I started making moves to improve my future, and it hasn't really gotten me anywhere so far due to my chronic health conditions. I'm still not sure how long I'll be on this planet and I hope I get taken off of it sooner rather than later, but I'm here right now, trying my best. And that's what matters.

When david said that he gave himself somewhat of a deadline just in case there was some kind of miracle that saved him hit hard. When I was, like, 12, I gave up, resolved to end it all. Gave myself a week just in case things would turn themselves around. They didn’t. Nothing saved me. My best friend left me. I kept getting bullied. I was still failing all my classes because I was to depressed to care. Nothing was able to stop me. I attempted but survived, was institutionalized for a months under constant observation. When I was able to go home, my mom had to sleep in my room for months, all sharp objects were put in a safe so I couldn’t get to them, couldn’t even get out of bed so i was home schooled for the last half of the year. Attempted many many times. It’s been a year since my last, and I’m about 100 days clean from sh. I would’ve missed out on so much of life if that knife went any deeper, if it hit any major arteries… I finally have friends, I’m starting high school soon, I am just a little happier; still not very, and I’m sure I’ll fall back into old habits if something happens that pushes me over the edge again, but I’m doing better. Just a reminder that life goes on. It sucks and I’m not gonna lie and say it gets better, but sometimes you kinda gotta get over it. Even if you think there’s no one who would care, if you have no friends or family, there’s someone who will be affected. Also, a big issue I faced was the fact that I had nothing wrong with my life. I’m middle class, average looking, somewhat smart; but depression still affected me because that’s just what it does. It made me feel even like a weak coward because i didnt have a reason like most of these people do. Even if it feels like that, your feelings are completely valid and you don’t have to have anything wrong with you to feel that way.

Just bringing this one because it was something I had the misfortune of finding out. I was in a bad place mentally and I ended up calling a suicide hotline, hoping to find someone to talk me down from making a bad decision. But I was on hold for over an hour, almost two. I was genuinely shocked. I ended up hanging up. But by the time I ended the call, I dissociated enough to drift from the idea of ending my own life so... 🤷‍♀️ turns out you can be put on hold on a suicide hotline. IDK 2hy I thought the hotline would have enough time to talk to everyone lol

Yesterday i was sitting on the side of a bridge hitting one of my deepest lows in years. I hate heights but I found it to be peaceful. I stayed there looking into the black below me (it was night) just thinking about whether i wanted to lean forward and fall or not. I eventually decided against it obviously, but it was one of the weirdest things that could probably be a giant sign I'm mentally cracked. I'd like to say that if you ever feel yourself in this position, get off. Stay there for as long as you need but get off the ledge. Living can sometimes suck, and sometimes you feel like you should just end it. But death isn't the answer. Relieving all possibility for true peace is not worth it. Life's worth living. I'm not religious in any way but i think we all have a purpose. Speaking as someone who has tried to commit many times, i have this to say....be safe, be mindful, and keep living.

Damn David, he was only 25 and he folded up from not being able to take it anymore. Where as I can see where he is coming from due to my own problems from birth, now being 26 I have to admit my life's gotten a lot easier to live. It took me taking the first step to learn how to socialize, communicate, and especially flirt with a woman. After many many years, however, I was able to make friends and eventually even gaining girlfriends through out my life (20-present). If I could give anyone like David some advice from my own personal experience, take that first step. If you want things to change you must start the change yourself, it will never just happen. Lastly, responding to one of his first sentences about what the purpose of life if we all die, there is no purpose at first.. You must create that purpose specifically for you because everyones purposes are different. Find that purpose that suits you, take steps to changing what you'd like changed in life, and never give up bro. As hard as it can be, you must make giving up not an option at all. Keep on keeping on. I hope these words find someone who could use them, themselves. ❤️🙃🙋

The allergy story hurts so much to me. I have a severe mango allergy. When I was about 3 my aunt baby sat me, she knew about my allergy but didn’t realize how many fruit based foods it’s in. The second I showed a reaction, started crying and developing hives, she called my mom and rushed me to the hospital. I can’t understand how a family member could just ignore an allergy so severe. I hope that the mother in the story is doing well today.
