What does eschatology have to do with ethics? What does the new heaven and the new earth have to do with the world in which we live now? Ultimately, it means that love is not our duty but our destiny. Through God's grace in our lives, Christians strive to develop habits and character which build them up into the people that God originally created them to be. Christians are not called to merely pray a prayer and forget the rest. Instead, we are called to be a royal priesthood, bringing God's love and royal stewardship into the new world that God is creating.
This lecture was given as part of the Gospel & Culture Lecture series featuring Dr. N. T. Wright. A leading scholar in New Testament studies and the mission of the church (authoring over 40 books), Dr. Wright is a significant voice in bridging theology and practice. In this lecture he discusses his newest book, After You Believe, the third in a series following Simply Christian, and Surprised by Hope.

A more accurate title for Wright's "After You Believe" would be "The Teachings of Dallas Willard Restated." Regarding NTW's 'new heaven and new earth' and the hope of 'life after life-after-death': A spiritual body in a spiritual heaven is good enough for me. I don't expect to be there (in the Most Holy Place) longing for a physical add-on. Of course, if that's what God wants to do, I'm all for it. I would point out, though, that when a nation is conquered and destroyed by a foreign army, the Bible sometimes portrays this tragedy in the highly figurative apocalyptic language of the destruction of heaven and earth. The fall of Babylon (Isaiah 13:9-13), Israel (Jeremiah 4:23-26), Egypt (Ezekiel 32:7-9) and Edom (Isaiah 34:4-5) in the sixth century B.C. are all depicted together with the destruction of heaven and earth.

Justification is a work of God the Father and the Holy Spirit in us and without us. Justification and faith do not have a sequence in time but in order Faith- Justification but are simultaneously in time. Sanctification is a work of The Holy Spirit in us but not without us. Justification and sanctification cannot be separated. There is no sanctification without justification or justification without sanctification, this even when sanctification is just a begin of regeneration through all our life. Faith is by Grace and the free gift of God. it is Called Fruits of the Spirit. Not the fruits of our works. The First does Glorifies God the other make us proud. Martin Luther said: “This gospel blessing of Grace alone” will be for a short time, and come under attack from every side. One generation after Luther; Arminius came with his damnable heresy denying Romans 3 the Total depravity of men. Which is the root of all heresies and goes together with denying the supremacy of God. Martin Luther wrote: The Bondage of the will” It was in response of Erasmus’s “Discourse on Free Will” Predestination is a biblical doctrine, You see, without predestination, you would have no Bible. The Word is Eternal!! Judas was predestined to betray the Lord. Abram was chosen out of Ur of the Chaldeans (Gen. 12). Israel was chosen out of all the nations of the earth. A new Israelite remnant was chosen after their exile. The Apostles taught predestination (Rom. 8:28-39; 9-11; Eph. 1; Phil. 1:6; 2:13; 1 Peter 2:5-10). 8

virtue doesn't require redemption, however. any sinner can be _virtuous_ but only the redeemed can bear the fruit of the Spirit. sounds like typical unregenerate moralism with a hint of Christ to legitimize it in the ears of Christians

He doesn’t believe in penal substitution or that the gospels teach us we are saved by grace. Beware of this man.
