I think this movie really covered the book better than I expected it too. It didn’t pull any punches, and yet it wasn’t trashy or gratuitous in the sexual scenes. It conveyed the seriousness of the subject matter without adding further shame and judgement than was already there in the moment. I hope this movie causes people to read the book for the first time or reread it to get the full message of God’s redeeming love for all of us.

I wonder if Francine Rivers is aware that Hollywood meant to over sexualize her book when they asked to do an adaption. I loved the book and felt that it did indeed capture the essence of the story of Hosea. I was excited to hear about the movie until I read the IMDb after feeling uncomfortable watching the trailer. I will not be supporting the movie and I think Francine Rivers should be offended at the movie.

I read this book for the first time and thought it was good, but I'm very disappointed in how the true message was diluted and allowed to be replaced with so much sensuality in this film!

It’s on Amazon Prime and I was going to watch with my 2 sons but I decided to watch before by myself and I ff so many scenes. It was very provocative and we have to be very strong in the spirit to watch this because the flesh/beastly nature will want to rise up again. I would feel so uncomfortable watching this with anyone and that sexual scene with her father was so disturbing. This movie is very sensual and sexual so pray before watching all of it.

Obviously she made many compromises with the script and while I watched the film and enjoyed it I regret to say that it really missed the mark on many crucial lessons and points in the book.
