So it's pretty cool of Holley to hook you up with all the cool stuff to regain your confidence, and get you to say nice things about them in a new video. The problem I have is what about the average guy that is not a social media influencer? He buys one like the first one and has tons of trouble, but gets nothing. Still don't know if I'd choose them.

Guy has under 3k subscribers. He's NOT an influencer. Guess what? He just made a video and posted it on You Tube. Holley saw it and took care of the guy. Most anyone could have done that and Holley did not have to. If I do go EFI, I am going to buy a Holley because of this video, not in spite of it.

The video of all the issues has well over 100k views of potential customers if you don’t think they did this to turn that video around you’re wrong. The average guy that has 0 subscribers and 0 views is not going to get the same customer service or the free parts. Also the conversion kit to turn your sniper 1 to a 2 is prohibitively expensive. Sniper 1 is a known paper weight and Holley should offer the sniper 1 upgrade kits as a low cost upgrade to original purchasers of the sniper 1.

This is exactly the reason I am leaning against putting an EFI on my 1971 F100 360. If I had to buy all that stuff I would be out $2000+ dollars and then have the risk of the thing not working.

It's nice what they did for you, but it's not right that you had to publicize the problem to get results. What about all the small guys that have this issue too? I felt the same when Cleetus McFarland made the video about Copart! These companies aren't fixing the issue, they're just silencing the spokespeople and trying to redeem themselves. The small guys are still getting stomped into the mud.

Your original video has over 100k views of potential customers that won’t buy you’re no longer a small guy to them. Someone that has a terrible sniper 1 and 0 followers and 0 views would not get the same customer service. In fact the upgrade kit to turn it into a sniper 2 is prohibitively expensive for those customers that want to upgrade to something possibly usable.

It took just over 3 months from initial install attempt to have all the correct parts and correctly manufactured parts to get my car going. If I was a KZbinr that could have been accelerated. Customer service in the automotive aftermarket isn't just a Holley problem, it's way too commonplace with many companies.

I'm a big believer in Holley Carbs, but i can say 2 things: 1) Their quality has gone downhill, as there were assembly issues in the 2 new carbs I have purchased in the last 2 years. 2) Reliability is still not there in their aftermarket efi. I was in the middle of nowhere on a curvy road and my needle and seat got some junk in it and stuck open. Within 5 minutes it was fixed and we were back on the road. If somethig fails in an aftermarket EFI, I better hope I have the part otherwise I'm calling a tow truck. And yes, they do fail. There are numerous people with them that carry around injectors, ecu's, etc. I'm sticking to carb. I'm 38 and I've learned a ton about tuning carbs and hope to be able to help my friends with carb issues in the future.

Just ordered the exact same system for my 1968 Chevelle SS. It’s being installed on Monday of next week. From everything I’ve read and seen it looks like a game changer. Good luck with your daughters car and if I can, I will post a video of my Chevelle once the system has been installed.

Glad you were blessed with the new parts. I have an express van, was told no problem, it wouldn’t take a couple days. 3 to 4 months later, it’s running and I’m scared to take it out of town. Everyone I know or who has had the msd efi system has told me to eat my losses and put a carb on the truck. I’m having trouble with idle, cranking, and stalling when putting into gear. Good luck with the 2 , and I hope it works for you.

@@380.motorsports I just bought a sniper 2 kit for my 79 k10 squarebody with blueprint 400 engine. I just need to figure out the fuel system with the dual tanks and how to make the return work

@@doctube2020 The Holley Tech Guy told me to run my feed line direct to the Sniper and then out of the Sniper through the fuel regulator and then return from there back to the tank. I’m also using a Holley drop in replacement fuel pump in my stock tank from my 95 Mustang. I guess in your case you’ll need two pumps? Also, I’m buying all my braided fuel line from Evil Energy. I just cannot justify the high cost of Holley/Earls stainless braided line. I need the stainless braided types to pass NHRA tech but if you are street only the Earls rubber hose looks like a good way to go.

Congratulations on your Holley outcome. On 2 separate occasions I was going buy buy Holley EFI and both times I decided not to because of all the bad reviews. Carburetors have never done me wrong. Too bad because I love fuel injection. I just don’t see how it makes sense to spend so much money on a system just for it to cause you head aches. If Holley sends me a sponsorship I’d love to try try it out but until then it’s carburetors for me. Have fun with your build I’ll be following it.

The problems are only with the 1st gen base units. I have a Sniper Stealth 4150 along with the Hyperspark kit and its never given me an issue. Car runs better than it ever did with a tuned carburetor and gets better mileage too with progressive linkage

Thinking about upgrading but ever since I installed the original sniper my car has been over heating. I have seen it as high as 230 and had to shut it down, never had the issue when it was carbureted.

Today I was told they dont know what wrong, we'll send a new o2, which we don't think is the problem, or, send the unit to us. 5 weeks til they test it. I've been down this road before. My first sniper was bad OOTB, months of tech help all knowing what was wrong and the fix, all well meaning, all wrong. The unit was bad, lost driving my car for months. It was gone so long I thought they were keeping it. Got a new one back, put it on, did okay. ran pretty good til last friday. Here I am a in the same boat, going to lose my car for another summer. I asked to send me a new unit, no. past warranty. Jesse the tech I talked with was helpful, understanding and patient.

Yea some people get lucky and most don’t. You stayed patient and did what you could. For the guys out there that have been jerked around by companies, how this guy handles it is about all you can do. So before you send them death threats take note😂 and it’s always cool when a company (Holley) does the right thing

Honestly, a company that goes above and beyond like that for someone, has my vote. Been trying to decide on what to do for the engines on my boat, twin sbc 350's. Either going to Edelbrock marine carbs, or staying stock. Going to be building some mild 350s with vortec heads, and this is really pushing me to go with Holley. Amazing company to do something like this. Sniper 2's seem like the ticket. Been working on it for 3 years now, and finally to the point of building some engines. Definitely want to push more than the factory 270 hp engines.

If Holley is watching, I went though the same thing, except I made mine work. Be better Holley. We love you and your products you sweet girl, but ffs, I had aluminum shards in my damn internal regulator. It came like that from the factory. The injectors kept coming unplugged and I have them zip tied to stay put now. Be better Holley!!!

Apparently with the research I’ve done people have had problems with the ECM’s being mounted in the EFI unit and over heating. The only reason they done you right was because your first video had a lot of views which changed a lot of peoples minds about sinking money into a Holley EFI. All that stuff they sent you would cost me a heck of a lot of money only to gamble on getting the results you got in your first experience.

I replaced my sniper 1 with the new sniper 2. So far it feels much better. Throttle response is sharper, and pedal feel is much improved. Knowing they redesigned the fuel injector connections makes all the difference to me too.

Currently running the edelbrock avs2 on my rebuilt chevy 350 in my K5. Runs fine but always have to constantly tune depending on the weather and cold start always runs rich until it warms up. Also i need something for high elevation when i start off roading. Please let me know how this new sniper 2 works out for you.

Good for you, however, based on you last video, frustrations expressed by many on various chat rooms and unethical business practices of Holley I would never go with their product. If Holley stepped up and offered an exchange or upgrade package to existing Sniper 1 customers and had stellar customer support in the event of an issue they would have my interest. To say I’m disappointed with Holley is an understatement.

@@ericuncapher9922 so did mine when my O2 sensor started acting funny, sticking at 15.5 AFR sometimes, regardless of what the ECU was demanding. I convinced them to send me a new O2 sensor and that small issue went away

I replaced the 02 sensor after a year and only hundred miles. Sensor couldn't read correctly replaced and that fine Then the coolant sensor wouldn't read above 158 degrees. This about 200 miles of afternoon easy driving. And when it wants to the wizard blanks out and the car quits. You can be driving for a hour. Or just in the garage on warm up. The unit is a good idea, however it's cheaply made.

How much was a l31 vortec engine. I have a 91 Corvette. L98. Do you think it is worth just getting a performer intake and a sniper2 or jeggs clone and maybe doing a single turbo? Or should i scrap the l98 for something better but same form factor?

I can't really say as I haven't built and installed in car yet. This one came from jegs for about 3500. The l31 is real popular to do a mile build with a gm hot cam, intake etc.

So man I bought a vette with tpi to Holley efi swap.. car keeps dieing randomly on me. Looks into fuel pressure only had around 50 psi so I put a better high flow fuel pump in runs a lot better but i keep getting crazy air/fuel ratios way rich then way lean the system is like 3 months old could my regulator already be messed up lol ? Im thinking I should just put carb on any suggestions ? I have aftermarket intake manifold 195cc heads n RV cam

I don't have any experience with the Aces kits. First glance on the sniper 2 it's lots a major improvements. It's a much nicer unit build quality wise then sniper 1.

Your last video just brings the issues to the surface. I just wonder if you weren't a You Tuber with subscribers you probably would not have been given such attention by Holley. I am a 82 - K20 owner with a SB 350 with an Edelbrock Air Gap Intake10:3.1 pistons, Scat- full rotation assembly, .030 Flat top Pistons. Comp Extreme Energy Flat Tappet Camshaft, Liberty performance Aluminum 64cc Head. hardened rods and Steel body roller1.5 rockers and a Holley Carb. it was Dyno tested and achieved 396-400 HP. Someone built this for me, I really never wanted a monster out put engine just a driver with a bit more than the original. I got a surprise. I've contemplated exactly like you! Do I really want to change this to an EFI ? Up here in the cold Northeast in the Autumn and Winter and starting this engine with a carb is horrible after if it sits for a while days weeks... . Its cold blooded and needs a lot of time to warm up....... a REAL LOT ! But because I don't start and drive it much I was told Holley EFI's would be a LOT better even with "old - stale gasoline" and it wouldn't be a problem?! IS this TRUE ?? Plus the cold starts would be better. Im holding out and contemplating what to do. Duel fuel tanks to boot, make it more of an expense. I would want to keep the 2 tanks active.... thank you for your videos...

Can anyone tell me if the Holley Sniper would be Ok with Older STALE GASOLINE ? A shop was telling me a Sniper would be a lot less of a headache than having a Holley Carburetor even with Old Stale Gasoline?? I thought it would mess up the throttle body and internals the shop said there not a problem compared to the Carburetor. any real world experience would be appreciated...... thank you

Holley tech support is a bunch of smooth talkers who convince you to eat crap and maybe buy the Sniper2, hoping it won't be another P.O.S. I forked over $2000 for the Sniper 2BBL, including installation, and got a truck that stalls at every intersection. Holley pretends it has no clue what could be wrong, but it's already past the 90-day warranty, so why not just upgrade to a Sniper2 and hope for the best. F-U, Holley. How about a class action lawsuit!

Somewhere I got the idea that Holley has bought the Atomic EFI product from MSD. If that is true I hope they don't screw that up too.

Its funny how you have to bash a company in order for them to step up. If it weren't for this video they would just keep shitting on us. I emailed them in the past regarding gauge questions and all I got were rude responses that took 5-10 days reply. Apparently Holley states you cant use your original classic dash gauges to run a Holley sniper. You need a whole new dash set up or run their gauges, which I think is ridiculous taking away from the classic look.

So I gotta ask, did Holley sell you or give you a Sniper 2? It sounds as if you embarrassed Holley to the degree that they decided to act. If every DIYer has to produce and publish a 30 minute KZbin video to get any sort of justice with a questionable product, as you said, that's a hard pass! I did subscribe because I'd like to follow the progress on this install.

I looked under the old girl and someone put a turbo 350 in it. May just rebuild the turbo 350 or swap it out as a core.

I'd stick with that the 200 r4 and witch is in the 80s they're junk 700 a little bit beefier but I put a turbo 350 in my 86 Monte carlo
