Yeah, but I don't think it would be dark but maybe psychic or poison. Poison because the masks and cloak protected the doctors from infected since the bubonic plague infact via fleas. Dark fits better if Aromitisse are the one causing it.

An excellent, intelligently creative and original addition to your Pokémon Art series, Ron! I particularly enjoyed the redesigns of Slurpuff and Aromatisse were executed with awareness and sensitivity to their inspirations. This increased their believability without cancelling out the characteristics possessed by the original designs. In comparison, the original designs neglected this by oversimplification and attempting to cram too much features into too small a space. A sequel featuring a redesign of Simisage and Simipour would be wonderful. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next! Maybe even a spin-off where you design evolutions or pre-evolutions for existing Pokémon? This is just a suggestion, though. Keep them coming, Ron!

I absolutely love that Klinklang redesign!!! It’s extremely endearing. I like your Aromatisse too, but honestly, I think the original Aromatisse is not as bad a design as people say. Its origins are pretty clear in its design and I mostly see people complain about how its supposed to be a “sexy” can-can dancer. It’s not one of my favorites for sure but it really does get unfairly judged

It can still be mischievous, but I can’t really think of a better opportunity for a Grass/Fire-type than a literal Sun Flower. It’s a living pun. In my opinion, I like the simis, the cartoonishness is cute to me. Simipour reminds me of my old friend in a way, maybe it's the facial expression or hair? But your design is good too. Alright time to go through the designs. I love the Simipour redesign no complaints there. Klinklang's redesign looks awkward and I feel it strays far from its original concept (looking at it again it kinda looks like something you would find in a Pokéstar movie). I like the normal design a lot more for being adorable and fitting it's original concept better. Sunflora redesign is amazing no complaints. Slurpuff redesign is also great, just a simple change like making it stand up makes it (pardon the pun) stand out a lot more. Although I like Slurpuff original design, this is a lot better. Aromatisse redesign is also amazing and should have been the original design.

I more or less agree with you except for simipour, for one reason. THE EYES, they look unnatural and nothing to equating to the eyes of a monkey. And there would only be one edit, make the streched out part look like mascera and not like the rest of the eye. Other than the eyes, redesigned simipour looks great

I love the Simipour redesign, maybe they went more cartoony to avoid another Jynx fiasco? Sunflora suffers from that too, ignoring the iconic brown centre of a sunflower makes me think they were still cautious about skin colours and possibly offending in the same way. I think you did the theme justice but didn't stray into problematic territory. Slurpuff as more of a dog is so cute! As for Aromatisse, I think it has the same problem as Simipour, in my opinion it seems to be based more closely on can-can girls (poofy skirt, dancing, masquerade elements, feather headpiece, less emphasis on arm/hands in design), plague doctors and Charles Le Brun's physiognomic heads, especially the parrot one. I think it too suffers from a concept made childish, the can-can is obviously a bawdy dance and that inspiration was probably softened to the point where it just becomes an overgrown bird furby. I'd really look forward to another one of these!

while i like your redesign, aromatisse is one of my favorite pokemon, particularly it's design. i know part of the hate for it in general in the pokemon fandom is they wanted a more plague doctor pokemon, but i also feel like part of why people don't like it, as you said, is that it "looks like it's supposed to be seductive but looks super awkward and kinda ugly" which like. ok. but what i see when i look at aromatisse, especially when keeping in mind human women (an obvs inspiration) is like. a large, hooked nose, chubbiness/curviness/a full/fat figure (however you wanna say it), it's short rather than sleek and tall, and feathers that look more like fuzz and body hair that regular feathers. it's not like the "sexy waifu" pokemon, it's not a skinny waif with no discernible body hair like gardevoir or still petite but hourglass curves and fur that looks like a hair-do and clothing items like lopunny. and i just. i feel like it's really telling when a non-human creature that depicts characteristics that human women have that /aren't/ an idealized white, western european view of what makes sexy femininity, it's "ugly and awkward". and like, this isn't an attack on you or anyone else bcs like i get it, it's bit of a stretch to say "you don't like this pokemon, you're racist and fatphobic", and that's not what i'm saying. just. that racism and fatphobia are so ingrained into our society, that we're taught that non-white features or largers bodies can't be sexy, and any attempt to make them sexy are awkward or uncomfortable. that's just. kinda frustrating to see, especially when it's not even intentionally malicious in anyway, whatsoever. anyways yeah. i do still like the redesign! though like others, to me, it looks more like an evolution to aromatisse than a redesign.

i feel like the KlinKlang evo' you designed could be a split evo. the one we got focuses on defense, whereas the one you made focuses on speed and intelligence. now it's less like Metagross, and more it's own thing. the rest were also great but now Aromatise looks like the awkward middle evo to your design. which is so perfect.

the kling klang and the last one were really good. the rest were honestly just too similar. Sunflora, for example, just looks like a regular sunflora, just with a darker type of sunflower. Also, id recommend you slap some more pose to your characters. The last one looked really cool, but i feel like you couldve made it arch more and make it a bit more curvy, to get the impression that she was really in the middle of a cool dance pose or something.

This is still better than Subjectively's series on, "fixing" pokemon from each generation. Where they ignore inspiration, theme, and just make almost all of the pokemon they "fix" worse. Overall a good video. Keep up the good work Ron!
