I think a better name for Teroison's signature move would be Searing Sting, it has that classic Pokemon alliteration, and isn't as on the nose as "Burning Poison" (also it has the word "sea" in it so thats a fun touch)

This is the video I didn't knew I needed up until now. I still remember watching the "Creating new Pokemon videos" for the first time and I often rewatch them afterwards. I was so hyped every time a new episode came out. The series also inspired me to actively create Fakemon myself. So thank you for that ^.^ While the original designs still have a special place in my heart I can't deny that the new designs are a huge improvement both concept, design and rendering wise! Really hope the series does well, I'd love to see more redesigns of your older mons.

And I'd love to see Leaflat get a redesign as well! Speaking of redesigns, I remember you say how annoyed you were with Hydrat in the fan redesigns series. So I was expecting that redesign to be a treat. And it was! This collection was a good indicator of how far you've come as an artist. Many of us have had this experience too! Maybe "Brantace," a reference to "ace pilots" in their prime? I envision a more upright, bold posture and dynamic pose. Since Brantaero has a jacket, perhaps the prevo's "clothing" element could have more emphasis on the scarf, with a poofy shape around the neck that also puffs out the chest to create a boastful, prideful look!

Great job on Hydrat, it is way cooler now. My only note is that the webbed back feet were really good in the old one. They made sense and looked weirdly accurate to the official Pokémon style to me (weird in contrast to the rest of the design). The new feet look a little bit blobby to me, and wouldn't be as good for swimming. I get that maybe the idea is that they no longer use their feet for swimming, but even so the webof the foot was just more appealing to me. Either way good job though.

I used to watch all of your fakemon art videos but I stopped watching for almost 2 years until YT recommended me this video and I was blown away by how much you have improved and I still can’t believe it has been 3 years since the first time I watched these.I remember trying to make fakemons but it ended up as ripoffs to your designs but I was so proud of it that I showed it to my classmates😂I’m now in highschool and though I don’t draw fakemon anymore,you were still one of the people who inspired me in the very early stages of my art journey and I can’t thank you enough for that because now art is my passion and I want to continue it for years to come. About Brantaero; Within minutes of watching the first video with that Design, I took my limited drawing skills and made an alternative design called SproosGoose (Or "Sprooseguce", idk) that took your "Spruce Goose" concept and made it a wingless bird pokemon wearing a plane-shaped flight suit it made out of scraps of wood. Seeing as you're revisiting the design, I really wish I had taken the initiative back then to finish the drawing and post it somewhere you could have seen it. I think you really might have liked it.

I love the first two designs! The goose one might be the best design I've seen from you - which is strange, seeing as it really could have just been a goose. But it has so much personality! The shape on the rat is really weird tho. Tbh I liked the triangular first evo shape a lot better. It is hard to distinguish the "mound of fur" on it's back as a mound of fur, and the shape of the whole body is a bit too reminiscent of a taco for me (not knocking any taco pokemon, but it's obviously not the intention of this design). I think that a simple reposturing of Hydrat could fix this issue though, without trying to implement a real change in concept or design

They really look all fantastic. The only two things I would absolutely love to see a bird Pokemon with a strong plane influence/inspiration. The new one is great but it would be really cool seeing a design closer to the original. The other thing I would give the mouse water veil as its hidden ability since water just falls off its fur.

Is the new region possibly based off of Mexico? My reasonings: -there is a small chunk in central Mexico where the maple leaf is native and it could be a great celebration with that Pokemon -geese constantly cross over Mexico to fly between north and south America, giving the perception of them never landing like he said -the lion fish is honestly everywhere now and are destroying many ocean ecosystems world wide and mexico is suffering A LOT

Brantaero is awesome!! There's nothing wrong with a basic bird especially if it has personality and flare. I would love to see an alternate form or perhaps pre-evolution where it can still fly and is filled with hope and joy. Perhaps it would have the gale wings ability in this form to reflect its superior flight abilities.

Oh, I LOVE Hydrat. I see it as having an evolved form that leans into the luxurious coat. Perhaps only Female ones can evolve into the wife of a mafia boss, but the overwhelming amount of pearls prevents them from swimming, so its coat doubles as a life jacket. I just love the idea you had to pass on SO MUCH

The glowups of Brantero and Hydrat are my favorite! The other two got great glow-ups too, but Leaflutter's original could have definitely been an older-gen Pokemon in my eyes, so it's improvements between then/now are more of an aesthetically pleasing nature, in my opinion. And Terosion's improvements are really good, and now makes it look like a very perceivable cross between lion and fish! It's a little too scary for my tastes, but that doesn't make it a bad design by any means. Hydrat's pose in particular is so dynamic and fun, the addition of seeing the entirety of its legs makes it look much more like a modern-day pokemon! Plus, its design cohesion is much better now, between the hydrophobic fur and the water-drop shaped features that are consistent through the design. I DO think you could have still gotten away with gemstones instead of exclusively pearls, since pearls come from the sea, and this particular rat is more of an in-land, sewer/urban feature, and would collect multiple 'dropped' valuables, in my eyes! But the pearls still work and convey 'water', solidifying (liquifying?) the concept further. And Brantero. I thought, based on your inspirations, I wasn't going to like it at all. "Old-fashioned pilots? This one just isn't gonna be for me." But, now that the video's over, it's my favorite of the four! Everything in the design *works*: it looks like a goose, especially with the iconic bump on their skulls; the jacket amplifies both its aesthetic AND theme, which is harder to do on a bird than anyone might think! I'm especially impressed with the "collar" of the jacket, it looks like it belongs on an animal without looking too "cloths-y"; and, finally, its *COLORS*! The browns of the 'leather jacket' contrast the monochromacy of the down, making it *pop* and bringing it to the forefront of focus. The eye also wonderfully contrasts the colors without being too drastic. Even the white, black, and gray you chose for its feathers and beak are *perfect*! Brantero's pose, its expression, its shapes and patterns, everything *works* together in an immaculate way. All-in-all, well done! These are great designs, you've improved so much in 4 years, and I can't wait to see where you'll be in four more!

Might be a weird concept but…I think it would be cool if in this region we have a character that uses the old designs of these mons as the new ones are running around in the wild. To make the old ones stand out more though perhaps they could get a branch evolutions that can only be achieved in this region (or thru an item only in this region) though making the OG designs super rare

My Fakemon Hot-Takes 1. LeafFlat/Leafflutter- Original feels like it would work in a gen 1-3 game, the redesign however works wonders for Gens 1-7 though. 2. Brantaero- Original feels like a gen 7-9 entry, like Flamigo. The Redesign feels more akin to gens 1-6 and I can see it being a part of a team I use. (I always use Flying, its my handicap.) 3. Hydrat- Original looks like a Legend of Zelda enemy or gen 7-9 design. the Redesign looks well for Alolan region or even gen 4-7. 4. Terosion- Original feels like gen 5-7 its not bad. The Remake however is Fantastic and fits Gens 1-8 perfectly, as well as many fangames that have unique regions its the right mixture of cute to cool ratio without making it too masculine or feminine. Overall I love the Redesigns more and I could see them being in future games/fangames. but in "modern" pokemon designs they are too well designed. Would love to see more redesigns in the future, as well as the Canada themed Fan Region. Keep up the Fantastic work!!

My favorite part of watching your redesigns is seeing where our interpretations of the source material differ. The biggest one from this video was Brantaero, I love the idea of the spruce goose inspiration, I would have made a flying/grass goose with wide wooden wings that were perfectly straight, but given it a dynamic pose to emphasize that unique element. At the same time though it would be a shame to lose the flying/dark grizzled pilot you made for us!

I love hydrat!! It's absolutely adorable; it's name also looks like Hydrate (which you all should do btw) It really mimics real life rats in a way as they're very clean animals (which you mentioned hydrat was), the only times they're ever dirty is when they live in dirty areas..think of it like the ground not necessarily being dirty on it's own till we suddenly plop a landfill on it (which is what we do to rats, if we kept our cities cleaner rats would also be cleaner as they wouldn't be wondering around in the sewage and trash known as our streets); rats in cleaner cities (with less diseases running around) tend to also be cleanier and much healthier (or non existent at all as without food laying around they have no reason to be around either as why would they be somewhere without food?). Rats and mice that live in forests, fields, ect and forage for their food tend to be quite clean and more safe to interact with than ones in cities like NY

So overall you're really good at designing fakemon, but I do have a few critiques...I've never mentioned them before because I didn't want to be rude but since this video is about improving, I wanted to help offer some insight. 1.) Tangents. I only noticed them on the first and last pokemon in this video, but sometimes I notice tangents in your art that could easily be fixed. (Basically, the lines of elements that should overlap sometimes line up too closely. This can easily be fixed by offsetting the lines a bit.) 2.) Some of your spiky pokemon don't look very natural. It's hard to explain, but I think the best way to describe it is the spikes look too uniform. For example, while your first lionfish was obviously overdesigned, the overall shape of the spikes was more natural in comparison. Just some food for thought. Like I said, you do a good job overall but these are some areas you could improve on.
